Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 4.3 seconds
• 82 km pure electric range (WLTP)
• 653 hp from a 4.4L Twin-Turbo V8 M Hybrid

Summary

This 2024 BMW XM offers a significant buying advantage with just 15,000 km, well below the typical 25,000 km annual average for luxury SUVs in the UAE. Finished in Grey with the high-gloss Shadowline trim, it represents a strong resale profile in the GCC market where neutral tones and aggressive styling are highly prized. As BMW's flagship M Power SUV, it combines supercar acceleration with the daily efficiency of a plug-in hybrid, allowing for silent city commutes in Dubai or Riyadh followed by immense V8 power for the open highway. For the local buyer, the combination of a near-new European spec vehicle and the XM's unmistakable road presence makes it a standout choice in the super-SUV segment.

This Car vs Other 2024 XMs

With only 15,000 km on the odometer, this XM sits in the lowest mileage bracket for its year in the GCC, offering a mechanical freshness rarely found in the pre-owned market. The European specification ensures a high level of interior finish, and the Grey exterior is a top-tier choice for retaining value in the local market. Compared to typical listings that have already crossed the 30,000 km mark, this example provides a cleaner entry point into M's most advanced powertrain.

xDrive A Shadowline vs Lower Trims

The Shadowline trim replaces standard chrome with high-gloss black accents on the kidney grille, window surrounds, and rear diffuser, providing a more aggressive aesthetic favored by GCC collectors. Inside, this trim typically includes the sculptural Alcantara headliner with fiber-optic LED illumination and the 'M Lounge' rear seating, which offers more luxury than standard M models. Unlike entry-level hybrid SAVs, this variant features the full 653 hp output and active roll stabilization as standard.

XM vs Segment Rivals

The BMW XM competes directly with the Lamborghini Urus and Aston Martin DBX, leading with its advanced PHEV capability that allows for up to 82 km of fuel-free driving. While rivals rely solely on petrol, the XM offers a unique dual-character experience suited for GCC traffic—silent and efficient in gridlock, yet delivering 800 Nm of torque for effortless highway overtaking. Its interior space and modern curved display technology surpass the aging layouts of several key competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption is exceptionally low for a V8 when utilizing the hybrid system, though stop-start city traffic in 45°C heat will see higher consumption once the battery is depleted. Authorized BMW service centers are extensively available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring specialized care for the complex M Hybrid system. The XM follows a premium depreciation curve typical of high-end European SUVs, but its status as a standalone M model helps it retain value better than standard X7 variants over a three-year period.

Performance & Capability

A verified 0–100 km/h time of 4.3 seconds puts this massive SUV in supercar territory, powered by the same engine architecture found in BMW's Le Mans racers. The M xDrive system is rear-biased for a sporty feel but provides maximum traction for the sandy shoulders of desert highways or sudden rain in the Northern Emirates. Drivers can toggle through dedicated M modes to sharpen the adaptive suspension and exhaust note, transforming it from a refined cruiser to a high-performance athlete instantly.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed as a high-tech sanctuary for five, featuring multi-zone climate control capable of handling extreme GCC summers and standard ventilated front seats. The rear 'M Lounge' features deep cushions and dedicated cooling vents, making it one of the most comfortable second rows in the segment for family road trips between emirates. Acoustic glazing helps isolate the cabin from wind noise during high-speed highway cruising, while the Harman Kardon audio system provides immersive sound.

Safety

This XM comes equipped with the full BMW Driving Assistant Professional suite, including active blind-spot detection and lane-keeping assistance, which are vital for multi-lane highway safety in the UAE. Standard 360-degree cameras and Parking Assistant Plus make navigating tight urban parking in Downtown Dubai or West Bay effortless despite the vehicle's large footprint. High-performance M Sport brakes ensure consistent stopping power even under the thermal stress of high-speed driving in desert heat.

The bottom line

This low-mileage 2024 XM is the perfect acquisition for a buyer seeking the ultimate M Power statement without the wait for a new order. Its unique PHEV powertrain and Shadowline styling make it one of the most versatile and striking performance SUVs currently available in the GCC.
