Summary

This 2024 Exeed RX Flagship represents a highly competitive entry into the premium crossover segment, offering a level of standard equipment that typically costs significantly more in European rivals. As the top-tier Flagship trim, it features advanced Continuous Damping Control (CDC) suspension for superior ride quality on GCC highways and a striking 'Aesthetics of Light' design language. With just over 62,000 km, this vehicle is well-positioned for its age given the long-distance nature of regional travel. Grey is a versatile and high-resale color in the UAE, effectively masking desert dust while maintaining a professional executive appearance. For the GCC buyer, this model offers a unique blend of luxury tech and verified regional cooling performance that stands out in a crowded market.

This Car vs Other 2024 RXs

With 62,161 km on the odometer, this RX has been driven roughly 30,000 km per year, which is common for executive commuters traveling between emirates or across major GCC cities. While slightly above the 20,000 km regional average, it reflects the car's suitability for long highway stints where the 2.0L turbo engine is most efficient. The Grey exterior is a top-performing resale choice in the local market, favored for its heat-deflecting properties and durability compared to darker shades.

Flagship vs Lower Trims

The Flagship trim is a significant upgrade over the Luxury and Comfort variants, most notably adding the 14-speaker Sony premium audio system and the 'Queen's Seat' front passenger ottoman with massage functionality. It also introduces the advanced Head-Up Display (HUD) and Continuous Damping Control (CDC), which allows the suspension to adapt to road conditions in real-time. Crucially for the GCC climate, the Flagship includes ventilation for both front and rear seats, a feature rarely found in this segment's lower tiers.

RX vs Segment Rivals

The Exeed RX competes directly with the Lexus NX and BMW X3, leading both in terms of standard technological features and interior dimensions for the price point. Its 2815 mm wheelbase provides superior rear legroom for family use, while the dual 12.3-inch curved screen setup offers a more modern digital experience than many established Japanese rivals. The inclusion of an All-Wheel Drive system as standard on the Flagship ensures better stability during occasional sand-drifts on secondary roads or heavy rain conditions.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0T AWD powertrain averages approximately 8.5 L/100km, making it an efficient choice for long-distance GCC cruising on 95 or 98 octane petrol. Exeed has established a strong after-sales presence in the UAE and Saudi Arabia through major distributors like Al Ghurair, ensuring parts availability and specialized service centers across the region. While Chinese luxury brands are newer to the market, the RX's high initial spec helps it retain value better than entry-level European crossovers, with many units backed by extended regional warranties.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L TGDI engine delivers a robust 261 hp, enabling smooth overtaking at highway speeds and a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 7.6 seconds. The intelligent AWD system and multiple drive modes—including Sand and Mud—provide the versatility needed for regional weekend adventures. Its 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is tuned for rapid shifts, ensuring the power is always available when merging into fast-moving Dubai or Riyadh traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed as a high-tech sanctuary, featuring Nappa leather upholstery and a massive panoramic sunroof that brightens the interior. GCC-specific comfort is prioritized with a high-capacity air conditioning system and 256-color ambient lighting that creates a cooling atmosphere during summer nights. Acoustic glass and extensive insulation ensure that even at 120 km/h, the cabin remains quiet and shielded from exterior heat and wind noise.

Safety

The Flagship trim is equipped with a Level 2.5 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, and Emergency Lane Keeping, which are essential for long-distance highway safety. A 540-degree panoramic camera system—including an 'invisible hood' view—makes navigating tight urban parking and sandy tracks effortless. The vehicle also features a comprehensive airbag system and high-strength steel construction, earning high marks in modern crash testing.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a modern, tech-heavy SUV that rivals European luxury for a fraction of the cost, this RX Flagship is an exceptional regional choice. Its combination of ventilated seating, advanced suspension, and proven GCC specifications makes it a high-value opportunity in the 2024 market.
