Summary

This 2024 Forthing T5 HEV Exclusive represents a modern approach to the hybrid SUV, offering a blend of futuristic styling and high-efficiency performance. With under 8,000 km, this unit is barely broken in and presents a significant saving over new showroom prices. The White exterior is widely considered the strongest resale color in the GCC market, especially for Chinese-origin vehicles, as it reflects heat effectively and maintains its luster. For the UAE buyer, this trim offers the full suite of luxury and safety tech that makes it a highly competitive alternative to traditional Japanese hybrids. The balance of a turbocharged engine with an electric motor ensures you have power for highway overtakes without the typical fuel penalty of a mid-sized SUV.

This Car vs Other 2024 T5 HEVs

With just 7,600 km on the odometer, this T5 HEV is well below the typical GCC annual average of 20,000 km, making it a low-mileage standout in the used market. The White exterior is the most preferred choice for local resale, ensuring better value retention and easier cooling during the peak summer months. It offers a near-new ownership experience without the initial depreciation hit of a brand-new registration.

Exclusive vs Lower Trims

The Exclusive trim is the range-topping variant, adding high-value features that GCC buyers prioritize, such as the 360-degree panoramic camera and ventilated front seats for summer comfort. It also upgrades the interior with premium leather upholstery and a larger 10.25-inch digital cockpit compared to the basic infotainment found in entry models. You also benefit from the full ADAS safety suite, including blind-spot detection and lane-keep assist, which are often absent on lower grades.

T5 HEV vs Segment Rivals

The T5 HEV competes directly with the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid and the Haval H6 HEV, leading with a more aggressive, 'bionic' design language and a standard feature list that rivals often charge extra for. Its hybrid system is tuned for city efficiency, offering a smoother stop-start experience in Dubai or Riyadh traffic than traditional petrol-only SUVs. Additionally, the interior space and rear legroom are generous for its class, making it a more practical choice for small families.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy is excellent, with a combined figure of approximately 5.5 L/100km, allowing for long-distance travel between emirates on a single tank. The Forthing brand is supported by a growing authorized service network in the UAE and wider GCC, with major service intervals typically occurring every 10,000 km. While Chinese brands experience steeper initial depreciation than Japanese marques, the high equipment level and hybrid efficiency help maintain a steady value floor at the 3-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine works in tandem with a 130 kW electric motor to produce a responsive 300 Nm of torque, ensuring brisk acceleration away from lights. It reaches 0-100 km/h in approximately 8.8 seconds, providing enough punch for confident highway merging. The MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension are tuned for road comfort, absorbing imperfections on urban streets while remaining stable at cruising speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a highlight, featuring ventilated and heated front seats that are essential for the GCC climate, alongside a dual-zone automatic AC system. A panoramic sunroof provides an airy feel to the five-seat interior, which is finished with soft-touch materials and ambient lighting. Sound insulation is impressive, utilizing high-density materials to keep road noise out during long desert highway drives.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this Exclusive trim, featuring a Level 2 ADAS suite that includes Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Blind Spot Detection. The 360-degree camera system is paired with parking sensors to make navigating tight city spaces effortless. Standard stability control and multiple airbags provide peace of mind, contributing to its high safety standing in its home market.

The bottom line

Perfect for the tech-savvy urban commuter, this low-mileage Exclusive trim offers premium hybrid efficiency and a full luxury spec at a much more accessible price point than its European or Japanese rivals.
