Summary

This 2024 Geely Coolray GK is a standout choice in the GCC market, offering modern 4-cylinder refinement with mileage that is considerably lower than the regional annual average. Finished in Grey—a versatile color that maintains strong resale demand in the UAE—this sub-compact SUV balances a sporty aesthetic with genuine daily practicality. As a GK trim, it bridges the gap between value and luxury by including premium features like a panoramic sunroof as standard. For the GCC buyer, the powerful air conditioning and reliable 1.5L turbocharged engine make it perfectly suited for both city traffic and highway cruising across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2024 Coolrays

With only 36,726 km on the odometer, this Coolray has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km per year expected in the GCC. While many 2024 models are already approaching the 50,000 km mark, this listing represents a lower-wear alternative. The Grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice in the local used market, ensuring better value retention compared to louder color options.

GK vs Lower Trims

The GK trim offers a substantial upgrade over the base GL, most notably adding the large panoramic sunroof that is highly prized by GCC buyers. It also steps up to 18-inch alloy wheels, giving the car a more aggressive road presence. Inside, you benefit from an upgraded digital cockpit and multi-color ambient lighting that isn't available on the entry-level variant.

Coolray vs Segment Rivals

The Coolray leads rivals like the MG ZS and Hyundai Creta in pure performance, offering a quicker 0-100 km/h time thanks to its 172 hp turbocharged engine. Its interior technology, featuring a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen, feels a generation ahead of many Japanese competitors in the same price bracket. Additionally, the BMA platform provides a level of high-speed stability that makes it more comfortable for long Dubai-to-Abu Dhabi highway runs.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel efficiency is a major draw, with an NEDC-rated 5.8 L/100km making it one of the most economical turbocharged crossovers for daily commuting. Authorized service centers are widely available through major distributors across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with typical service intervals at 10,000 km. As a GCC-spec model, it retains a higher percentage of its value and qualifies for easier insurance and financing compared to non-regional imports.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine delivers a punchy 172 hp and 290 Nm of torque, ensuring confident overtaking even at highway speeds. Power is delivered smoothly through a 7-speed wet Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), which is specifically tuned for the stop-start nature of urban GCC traffic. With four selectable drive modes including Sport and Eco, you can easily adapt the car's responsiveness to suit city streets or open desert roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the heat, featuring a powerful climate control system and dedicated rear air vents to keep all five passengers cool during the summer. The GK trim includes premium leather-style upholstery and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for a high-tech feel. For weekend trips, the 330-litre boot provides ample space, which expands significantly with the 60:40 split rear seats folded flat.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with front and side airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a high-strength steel body structure. This trim features a rear-view camera and parking sensors to make urban maneuvering effortless in tight mall parking lots. Standard Bosch-sourced braking systems, including ABS and Brake Assist, provide reliable stopping power in the fast-paced multi-lane highway environments common across the GCC.

The bottom line

Perfect for the young professional or small family seeking a tech-forward SUV, this low-mileage GCC-spec Coolray offers premium features and turbocharged performance at a significant saving over new.
