Summary

This 2024 Geely Monjaro GF PLUS represents a highly attractive entry point into the premium SUV segment, offering a sophisticated grey exterior that holds its appeal in the GCC resale market. As the range-topping trim, the GF PLUS is packed with high-end features that often command a significant premium in rival European models, making it a standout for value-conscious buyers. The mileage is consistent with average annual use for a modern commuter in the UAE, indicating it has been regularly driven on the region's well-maintained highways. For a GCC buyer, this model is a compelling choice because it bridges the gap between affordable Chinese innovation and the mechanical refinement of Volvo-inspired engineering. Its combination of four-wheel-drive stability and a tech-rich cabin ensures it remains one of the most sought-after mid-size crossovers in the pre-owned market.

This Car vs Other 2024 Monjaros

With approximately 75,773 km, this vehicle's mileage is slightly above the regional average for its age but reflects the typical long-distance highway use common in the GCC. The grey exterior is a highly desirable choice in the local market, ensuring better resale liquidity and heat management compared to niche colors. Buyers will find this specific unit offers a well-tested powertrain that has already proven its reliability in local conditions.

GF PLUS vs Lower Trims

The GF PLUS trim is the ultimate expression of the Monjaro, adding essential luxury features over the GF and GK trims that GCC buyers prioritize. It upgrades the cabin experience with a 10-speaker Bose premium audio system, a massive 25.6-inch augmented reality head-up display, and ventilated front seats designed for summer comfort. Furthermore, it often includes the exclusive triple-screen dashboard layout, providing a dedicated entertainment display for the front passenger.

Monjaro vs Segment Rivals

The Monjaro leads rivals like the Changan CS95 and Haval H9 by offering a more refined 8-speed automatic transmission and a platform shared with European luxury engineering. While competitors focus on sheer size, the Monjaro provides a more agile driving experience and superior cabin materials like eco-friendly suede. Its 562-litre boot space is highly competitive, offering more practical vertical storage than many other crossovers in its class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 2.0T 4WD powertrain averages between 8.5L and 10.5L/100km, performing efficiently during long-distance inter-city cruises. Geely has established an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts availability and professional maintenance is never an issue. Depreciation for the Monjaro is stabilizing as the brand gains trust, typically retaining roughly 55-60% of its value after three years, which is strong for the Chinese premium SUV segment.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine delivers a robust 235 hp and 350 Nm of torque, enabling a swift 0-100 km/h time of just 7.7 seconds. The four-wheel-drive system is paired with selectable terrain modes, including dedicated Sand and Off-Road settings, providing confidence for weekend trips to the desert periphery. On the highway, the 8-speed automatic ensures smooth power delivery, making overtaking effortless even at typical GCC cruising speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of tech and comfort, featuring a unique triple-screen interface and tri-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents to combat extreme summer heat. Acoustic glass and active noise cancellation technology provide a quiet environment, shielding passengers from road and wind noise during long drives. The seating is designed with high-density foam layers for fatigue-free travel, complemented by a large panoramic sunroof that adds a sense of space.

Safety

The GF PLUS comes equipped with a full ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist, which are invaluable for long desert highway stretches. Safety is further enhanced by a 540-degree camera system that provides a transparent chassis view, perfect for navigating tight parking spots or uneven terrain. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags and a comprehensive suite of active braking systems, ensuring top-tier protection for all five occupants.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a tech-forward family SUV that doesn't compromise on mechanical refinement, this Monjaro GF PLUS is an exceptional opportunity to own a flagship vehicle at a significant savings over new.
