Summary

This 2024 Genesis G90 Royal represents the absolute peak of Korean luxury, offering a compelling alternative to established German flagships with significantly more standard equipment. With only 17,000 km, this vehicle is barely broken in and remains well below the average annual mileage typically seen for executive sedans in the UAE. The Grey exterior is a highly desirable and stable resale color in the GCC market, perfectly complementing the car's understated, modern aesthetic. As a top-tier Royal trim, it features the e-Supercharged hybrid powertrain, providing smooth, effortless acceleration that is essential for confident overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways. For a buyer seeking the best possible rear-seat experience and cutting-edge tech without the six-figure depreciation of its European rivals, this G90 is the smartest choice currently on the market.

This Car vs Other 2024 G90s

At 17,000 km, this G90 sits well below the typical 25,000 km expected for a vehicle of its age in the high-mileage GCC environment. The Grey paintwork is a strategic choice for the region, known for maintaining its luster under intense sunlight and commanding higher demand in the used market compared to niche colors. This low-mileage example offers a near-new ownership experience with the initial steep depreciation already absorbed.

ROYAL vs Lower Trims

The Royal trim (often designated as E-Supercharged in other markets) transforms the G90 from a luxury sedan into a true limousine. It adds a sophisticated multi-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering for superior maneuverability in tight city spaces like Downtown Dubai. Inside, it upgrades the cabin with power-reclining rear seats featuring massage functions, a 26-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, and a dedicated rear-seat command console that is unavailable on the base 3.5T models.

G90 vs Segment Rivals

While the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series often require expensive optional packages to reach this level of luxury, the G90 Royal includes features like power-closing doors and Nappa leather as standard. It leads the segment in value-for-money tech, offering a unique 'Mood Curator' system and UV-C LED cleaning compartments for personal items. Its all-wheel-drive system and advanced cabin insulation provide a more composed and quieter ride than many long-wheelbase competitors during high-speed cross-emirate commutes.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L hybrid powertrain is designed to optimize efficiency in stop-start city traffic, averaging approximately 11.8 L/100km combined. As a flagship luxury model, it benefits from a growing authorized Genesis service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring specialized care is always accessible. While European luxury sedans typically see 15-18% annual depreciation in the GCC, the G90 has shown improved value retention as the brand's reputation for reliability strengthens among local buyers.

Performance & Capability

The 48V electric supercharger allows this G90 to deliver 415 hp and 550 Nm of torque with virtually no lag, resulting in a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 5.2 seconds. The multi-chamber air suspension uses a front camera to 'read' the road ahead, proactively adjusting for speed bumps and surface changes common in urban areas. This trim also features Active Rear-Wheel Steering, which reduces the turning circle significantly, making this large sedan surprisingly agile in parking garages and U-turns.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary tailored for the GCC climate, featuring three-zone climate control and ventilated seats in both the front and rear rows. The rear passenger experience is paramount, offering power-adjustable reclining seats with memory settings and footrests that transform the cabin into a mobile first-class lounge. Acoustic laminated glass and active noise cancellation ensure the interior remains serene, effectively shielding occupants from road noise and the intense external heat of the region.

Safety

The G90 is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance and a Surround View Monitor that are invaluable on crowded multi-lane highways. It features 10 airbags and a Remote Smart Parking Assist system that allows the car to park itself while you stand outside. Additional systems like Highway Driving Assist and Lane Following Assist provide a semi-autonomous driving experience that significantly reduces driver fatigue during long desert drives between cities.

The bottom line

For the executive buyer who values sophisticated technology and rear-seat comfort above brand heritage, this low-mileage, top-trim G90 Royal offers a premier ownership experience at a significant value compared to new.
