Summary

This 2024 Elantra in Comfort trim offers a compelling mix of modern tech and high efficiency, perfect for the cost-conscious GCC commuter. With mileage at 57,000 km, it has been driven slightly above the regional annual average but remains mechanically fresh as a current-generation model. The striking Blue exterior stands out in a market dominated by white and silver, while the Chinese regional spec provides a high level of interior technology for the price. This sedan is a strong alternative to the traditional segment leaders, offering superior standard screen sizes and a more avant-garde design. For a buyer in the UAE or wider GCC, it represents a smart balance of late-model reliability and reduced depreciation.

This Car vs Other 2024 Elantras

With 57,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has seen slightly higher than average use compared to the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual GCC benchmark. However, this is largely reflective of long-distance highway commutes between emirates, which are often easier on the engine than heavy city crawling. The Blue finish offers a distinctive look, and while white is the king of resale, this specific shade of blue remains a respected choice that maintains its appeal in the local pre-owned market.

COMFORT vs Lower Trims

The Comfort trim adds significant interior refinements over the base GL, most notably the dual-screen setup that includes a 10.25-inch digital cluster and matching infotainment display. You also benefit from enhanced cabin materials and alloy wheels, which are essential for both aesthetics and heat dissipation in the GCC summer. These tech-forward features are high-priority for local buyers, ensuring the car feels modern and holds its value better than the more basic entry-level variants.

Elantra vs Segment Rivals

The Elantra leads the Toyota Corolla and Nissan Sunny in terms of cabin technology and futuristic exterior styling. While rivals focus on traditional layouts, the Elantra offers more rear legroom for family use and a significantly larger 474-litre boot for weekend trips. Its Smartstream powertrain is specifically tuned for a balance of city agility and quiet highway cruising, making it a more refined choice for those who spend significant time on the E11 or E311.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption is a major strength, averaging around 5.3 L/100km on the CLTC cycle, which translates well to GCC highway driving. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with Hyundai's massive authorized network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, parts are affordable and readily available. As a Chinese-spec model, it offers a lower initial purchase price than GCC-spec versions; while depreciation is slightly steeper at 15-18% annually, the lower entry cost often results in a similar total cost of ownership over three years.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L Smartstream engine paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) provides smooth, linear power delivery ideal for urban navigation and steady highway speeds. While it is not a performance sedan, the 0-100 km/h time of approximately 10.7 seconds is perfectly adequate for safe overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways. The chassis is tuned for comfort, soaking up road imperfections and providing a stable, quiet ride during long-distance cross-border trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a highlight, featuring a driver-centric layout with five-passenger seating and dedicated rear AC vents—a critical feature for maintaining comfort during the peak GCC summer months. The 10.25-inch digital displays provide a premium feel usually reserved for executive sedans, while the acoustic insulation helps keep the interior cool and quiet against outside wind noise at speed. Cloth upholstery is used here to avoid the extreme surface heat of leather in the desert sun, ensuring immediate comfort even after the car has been parked outside.

Safety

This Elantra comes equipped with a solid suite of safety features including multiple airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist. For the fast-paced multi-lane traffic found in major GCC cities, the standard rearview camera and parking sensors provide essential assistance. The high-strength steel chassis offers a protective cell that meets international standards, giving families peace of mind during daily commutes or weekend road trips.

The bottom line

This 2024 Elantra is the ideal choice for a daily commuter who wants the latest technology and fuel efficiency without the premium price tag of a GCC-spec model. It is a modern, high-tech sedan that is ready for the road and offers exceptional value for money in today's market.
