Summary

This 2024 Infiniti QX80 LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE represents a sophisticated choice for GCC buyers seeking a blend of immense road presence and long-distance capability. With its black exterior—the most sought-after resale color in the region—and GCC specifications, it offers a secure investment profile and full compatibility with local service networks. The mileage is exceptionally well-suited to the UAE's highway-centric lifestyle, suggesting it has been used primarily for smooth inter-emirate commutes rather than harsh stop-start city driving. As a top-tier trim, it distinguishes itself with a refined interior that remains comfortable even during the peak of the Arabian summer. Compared to its rivals, the QX80 provides a more traditional, heavy-duty feel that inspires confidence on or off the tarmac. The most critical ownership advantage here is the combination of the proven 5.6L V8 engine and the regional spec, ensuring both heat resilience and strong resale value across the Gulf.

This Car vs Other 2024 QX80s

In the GCC market, the typical annual mileage for a full-size SUV often exceeds 25,000 km due to frequent travel between cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh. At 60,977 km, this 2024 model sits exactly where a well-utilized luxury cruiser should be, indicating it has been enjoyed as intended on the region’s high-speed road networks. Unlike many listings that may feature lighter exterior shades, the black finish on this unit is a premier choice that commands attention and holds a much stronger resale position in the local used market. Opting for a 2024 model year ensures you are getting the most refined iteration of this platform, with all the latest software and cooling enhancements designed for the desert climate. The GCC-spec status is the ultimate peace of mind for buyers here, as it guarantees the cooling system and radiator are up to the task of 50-degree summers. This specific unit stands out as a high-trim, ready-to-drive example that avoids the risks associated with non-regional imports.

LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE vs Lower Trims

Selecting the LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE trim elevates the driving experience significantly over the base Luxe or Premium Select variants. This trim is specifically engineered to cater to the high-end GCC buyer, adding the sophisticated Hydraulic Body Motion Control system which reduces body roll during cornering—a vital feature for a vehicle of this size on winding coastal roads. Inside, you move from standard leather to quilted semi-aniline leather appointments that offer superior durability and breathability in high heat. The audio experience is transformed by the standard 17-speaker Bose Performance Series system, providing a studio-quality soundscape that lower trims simply cannot match. Furthermore, the ProActive suite adds an extra layer of automated security with features like the Smart Rear View Mirror and Steering Linkage lights. These additions are not just about luxury; they represent the features that discerning second-hand buyers in the UAE specifically look for, making this trim much easier to trade in later.

QX80 vs Segment Rivals

The QX80 competes directly with the Lexus LX and the Cadillac Escalade, but it carves out its own niche by offering a more robust, mechanical feel. One of its primary advantages for the GCC traveler is its massive fuel tank, which allows for longer stretches between stops when crossing the vast distances between UAE and Saudi borders. While some rivals have moved toward smaller turbocharged engines, the QX80 retains its naturally aspirated 5.6L V8, prized in this region for its linear power delivery and long-term reliability. The interior space is exceptionally generous, offering a true 8-seat configuration where the third row is actually usable for adults, unlike some European competitors. Its air conditioning system is widely regarded as one of the strongest in the segment, a non-negotiable factor for local comfort. Additionally, the QX80 often provides a more competitive price-to-feature ratio, giving you a full-size Japanese-engineered luxury experience with a lower entry barrier than its closest Japanese rival.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a 5.6L V8 in the GCC is a practical choice given the relatively affordable fuel costs and the engine's legendary durability. You can expect real-world fuel consumption to average around 14 to 16 liters per 100km, performed efficiently during long-distance highway cruising at 120 km/h. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and Infiniti’s authorized service network is exceptionally strong across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are always readily available. The QX80 is known for its slow depreciation rate compared to European luxury SUVs; traditionally, it retains about 80-85% of its value after the first three years in the GCC market. This specific trim is particularly resilient to value drops because the Sensory and ProActive features are highly coveted. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it will always be the first choice for local buyers and dealerships, maintaining a transparent service history and a higher trade-in value.

Performance & Capability

Under the hood lies the heart of the beast: a 5.6-liter V8 engine that produces smooth, effortless power, making highway overtaking at speed remarkably simple. This powertrain is mated to a heavy-duty 7-speed automatic transmission and a sophisticated Four-Wheel Drive system with a genuine low-range transfer case. Whether you are navigating the soft sands of the Liwa desert on a weekend or rain-slicked city streets, the genuine off-road rating ensures you are never stuck. The QX80 boasts a massive towing capacity of approximately 3,855 kg, making it the perfect companion for those who own boats or horse trailers in the UAE. Its high ground clearance of 234mm allows it to clear obstacles with ease, providing a commanding view of the road that GCC drivers prefer. Despite its size, the 0-100 km/h sprint is achieved in roughly 7.5 seconds, ensuring you have enough spirit to keep up with fast-moving highway traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin of this LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE is a sanctuary designed to shield occupants from the harsh external elements of the Middle East. With an 8-seat layout, it serves as the ultimate family transporter, featuring a Tri-Zone automatic temperature control system that ensures even the third-row passengers stay cool in the midday heat. The front seats are both heated and ventilated, providing immediate relief during the summer months. Cabin insulation is top-tier, utilizing acoustic glass to significantly reduce wind and road noise during long drives across the Emirates. High-quality materials like Charcoal Burl wood and Alcantara headlining create a premium atmosphere that feels more like a private jet than an SUV. For entertainment, the large touchscreen interface provides seamless connectivity, while the ample boot space ensures that family luggage or outdoor gear is easily accommodated.

Safety

Safety is paramount in the QX80, which comes equipped with an extensive suite of driver assistance technologies essential for the busy multi-lane highways of the GCC. The ProActive package includes Intelligent Cruise Control, which maintains a safe distance from the car ahead—a lifesaver during the daily commute between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Departure Prevention are standard, providing vital alerts and corrections when navigating fast-moving traffic. The vehicle also features Predictive Forward Collision Warning, which can actually sense the speed and distance of the two vehicles directly ahead, not just the one in front of you. With a 360-degree Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, parking this large SUV in tight mall spaces becomes effortless. The safety cage is reinforced to protect all eight passengers, ensuring that this vehicle remains one of the most secure choices for family travel in the region.

The bottom line

This 2024 QX80 is the ideal find for a family looking for the ultimate mix of Japanese V8 reliability and top-tier luxury. With its GCC-ready specs and highly desirable black-on-black aesthetic, it offers exceptional value and peace of mind in today's used market.
