Summary

This Cooper S Cabrio is a rare find in the GCC market, combining open-top driving with remarkably low mileage for its age. While most convertibles are driven primarily in winter, this example’s condition suggests it has been preserved as a weekend specialist. The Blue finish is a highly desirable choice for the MINI silhouette, ensuring strong interest and value retention in the local used market. For a GCC buyer, this model offers the perfect balance of punchy performance and the premium cabin tech needed for year-round usability. It stands out by offering a authentic go-kart feel that rivals struggle to match in such a compact, stylish footprint.

This Car vs Other 2024 Cooper Ss

With just 8,822 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits significantly below the typical GCC annual average of 20,000 km. While many 2-year-old models have already seen heavy highway use between emirates, this Cabrio remains in a bracket usually reserved for showroom demonstrators. The Blue exterior is a vibrant, market-preferred choice that typically commands a quicker sale than more muted tones in the UAE.

CABRIO vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the Cooper S Cabrio from the base Cooper replaces the 3-cylinder unit with a more robust 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine, a must-have for confident highway overtaking in fast-moving GCC traffic. This trim also standardizes 17-inch alloy wheels and sport seats, providing significantly better lateral support. You also benefit from the performance-tuned 'S' suspension and MINI driving modes, which allow you to sharpen the throttle response at the touch of a button.

Cooper S vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Audi A3 Cabriolet or the BMW 2 Series Convertible, the MINI leads with its superior urban maneuverability and a tighter turning circle of approximately 10.8 meters. While the BMW offers a more traditional rear-wheel-drive feel, the MINI's front-wheel-drive setup and compact wheelbase make it far more agile in tight city parking and congested downtown areas. It remains the most distinctive 'lifestyle' choice in the premium convertible segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 2.0-litre powertrain averages around 6.6 L/100km on combined cycles, though GCC city traffic may see this rise slightly. MINI's authorized service network is extensive across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with Condition Based Servicing (CBS) typically requiring major attention every 10,000 to 12,000 km. Historically, the Cooper S holds its value well in the GCC, with depreciation rates for low-mileage examples often performing better than larger European luxury sedans.

Performance & Capability

The 189 hp output allows for a 0–100 km/h sprint of 6.9 seconds, providing plenty of zip for Dubai's highway on-ramps. With a top speed of 237 km/h, the car remains composed and stable even at the upper limits of legal highway speeds. The 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is specifically tuned for quick shifts, ensuring the power is always available when navigating through stop-start traffic or during spirited weekend drives.

Comfort & Cabin

The 4-seat layout is perfect for small families or weekend trips, featuring a premium soft-top that can be partially retracted as a sunroof or fully dropped in just 18 seconds. For the GCC climate, the dual-zone automatic climate control is exceptionally effective at cooling the small cabin quickly after being parked in the sun. The interior is anchored by the 8.8-inch touchscreen and ambient lighting, creating a high-tech atmosphere that feels modern and sophisticated.

Safety

Safety is managed by the Active Driving Assistant, which includes forward collision warning and lane departure warning—essential for navigating multi-lane highways. This trim comes standard with a comprehensive airbag system and rear park distance control to assist with visibility when the top is up. The electronic stability control and traction systems are specifically calibrated to handle the occasionally dusty or sandy road surfaces found across the region.

The bottom line

This is a prime opportunity for a buyer seeking a near-new, high-spec convertible that has bypassed the heaviest period of initial depreciation while retaining ultra-low mileage.
