Highlights

• 4.8 L/100km combined (official)
• 4.6 m turning radius
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This Mitsubishi Mirage represents a highly practical choice for the GCC market, especially considering its exceptionally low mileage for a two-year-old vehicle. Finished in Titanium Grey, a high-demand color that holds its value well in local resale markets, it offers a balance of modern tech and unmatched efficiency. It stands out from rivals by offering standard automatic climate control and smartphone integration at a significantly lower price point. For a buyer in the UAE or wider region, the strongest consideration is its reputation for bulletproof reliability and the ease of finding parts across every emirate.

This Car vs Other 2024 Mirages

With only 20,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the typical 40,000–50,000 km expected for a two-year-old car in the GCC. This low usage translates to less wear on the suspension and cooling systems, which are critical in the local climate. The grey exterior is a neutral, heat-resistant choice that remains one of the fastest-selling colors in the UAE used market.

GLX vs Lower Trims

The GLX trim provides essential upgrades over the base models, most notably the 7-inch Smartphone-Link Display Audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features automatic climate control, a must-have for maintaining cabin comfort during the peak GCC summer, which is often an optional extra on competitors. Steering wheel-mounted audio and voice controls allow for safer operation during high-speed highway commutes.

Mirage vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Kia Picanto or Suzuki Swift, the Mirage leads with a more generous 484-litre boot capacity (seats up), making it a superior choice for grocery runs and small family trips. Its 4.6-meter turning radius is one of the tightest in the subcompact segment, allowing for effortless U-turns on narrow city streets where larger hatchbacks struggle. Mitsubishi’s MIVEC engine is specifically tuned for efficiency, often outperforming rivals in real-world stop-start city traffic.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption is a major highlight, with official figures of 4.8 L/100km, making it one of the most economical petrol vehicles available in the region. Maintenance is straightforward with service intervals typically every 10,000 km at authorized centers available throughout the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The Mirage benefits from strong value retention, typically depreciating only 8–10% annually, which is significantly better than European subcompacts in the same price bracket.

Performance & Capability

The 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine is designed for urban agility, delivering 78 hp that feels responsive due to the car's lightweight construction. The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) ensures smooth power delivery without the shift-shock of traditional automatics, which is ideal for smooth cruising on the E11 or E311 highways. While not intended for off-roading, its 150 mm ground clearance is sufficient for navigating speed bumps and occasional gravel parking areas common in developing residential zones.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Mirage utilizes clever packaging to provide 34.2 inches of rear legroom, which is competitive for the subcompact class and accommodates adult passengers comfortably. The air conditioning system is renowned for its cooling speed, reaching comfortable temperatures quickly even after the car has been parked in direct sun. High-quality fabric seats provide a durable and cooler seating surface compared to dark leather during the hotter months.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include Active Stability Control and Hill Start Assist, providing extra confidence when joining fast-moving highway traffic. It is equipped with dual front airbags and Mitsubishi's Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body, which is designed to redirect energy away from the cabin during a collision. Anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution ensure stable stopping power on both paved and sandy road edges.

The bottom line

Perfect for the urban commuter or first-time buyer, this low-mileage Mirage offers the lowest running costs in its class and the peace of mind that comes with a vast GCC service network.
