Summary

This Nissan Sunny SV offers a balanced entry into modern commuting, featuring a high-efficiency 1.6-litre engine that is perfectly suited for the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. With the Vehicle Age at 2 years and 68,000 km, this car has been used as a frequent commuter, yet it remains well-positioned for the GCC market where high-mileage highway driving is common. The Grey exterior is a neutral and practical choice for the region, aiding in heat management and long-term resale stability. As the SV trim, it bridges the gap between basic utility and modern convenience, making it a competitive alternative to the Toyota Yaris or Honda City. This is a reliable choice for those prioritizing low running costs and a proven service network across the Middle East.

This Car vs Other 2024 Sunnys

At 68,000 km, this Sunny has covered more ground than the typical 2-year-old GCC average, indicating it was likely a dedicated highway commuter. While the mileage is higher than average, the 2024 model year ensures you are getting the most recent aesthetic refresh, including the updated V-motion grille. The Grey metallic finish is a highly resilient choice for the local climate, showing less wear from sand and heat compared to darker tones.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim is a significant step up from the base S model, adding features essential for modern GCC driving like cruise control for long highway stretches and a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also benefit from a wireless phone charger and 16-inch alloy wheels, which provide a more stable and refined ride than the basic steel wheels found on the entry-level variant.

Sunny vs Segment Rivals

The Sunny leads its class in rear legroom, often surprising buyers with a cabin that feels closer to a mid-size sedan than a compact. Compared to the Toyota Yaris, the Sunny offers a larger 425-litre boot and a 1.6-litre engine that provides more confidence during highway overtaking. Nissan's Intelligent Mobility suite in this generation also gives it a tech edge in safety over several budget-focused competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

With a combined fuel economy of 5.2 L/100km, the Sunny is one of the most economical petrol vehicles available in the GCC. It uses a standard 40-litre tank, providing a significant range for inter-emirate travel. Maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km service intervals, and Nissan's massive parts network ensures low repair costs and high availability from Dubai to Muscat. Historically, the Sunny remains one of the slowest-depreciating cars in the region due to its popularity in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

The 118 hp 1.6-litre engine is paired with an Xtronic CVT that is tuned for smooth, linear acceleration rather than raw speed. It manages 0-100 km/h in approximately 10.7 seconds, which is ample for city merging and highway cruising. The front-wheel-drive setup and light steering make it incredibly easy to maneuver in tight urban parking and congested traffic conditions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features segment-first Zero-gravity front seats, designed to reduce fatigue during long drives across the desert. Passengers in the back will appreciate the dedicated rear cooling vents, a vital feature for the intense GCC summer. The interior layout is focused on practicality, with four bottle holders and large door pockets to accommodate the needs of a small family or daily commuter.

Safety

Safety is managed through Nissan's Safety Shield technology, featuring Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking standard on this trim. Additional GCC-relevant aids include Hill Start Assist and Vehicle Dynamic Control, which help maintain stability on sandy or slippery road surfaces. The inclusion of Rear Parking Sensors and Rear Seat Alert adds a layer of convenience and safety for daily family duties.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious professional or a small family, this 2024 Sunny SV offers modern tech and class-leading space at a price point that reflects its honest highway mileage.
