Summary

This 2024 Peugeot 3008 Active represents a contemporary choice for GCC drivers who prioritize fuel efficiency and modern design in a compact footprint. With 72,000 km, its mileage is reflective of the high-usage highway commuting typical in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, yet the car maintains its visual edge with the versatile Grey exterior that holds strong resale value in the local market. As an entry point into Peugeot's premium SUV range, the Active trim provides the essential French flair and cabin technology that sets it apart from more utilitarian rivals. For a GCC buyer, the primary consideration is the balance of a European driving feel with the peace of mind offered by a vehicle that is still relatively new in its production cycle.

This Car vs Other 2024 3008s

At 72,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is on the higher side of the average annual range for the GCC, which typically sees 20,000 to 25,000 km per year. However, this level of use often indicates consistent highway driving between emirates, which is generally less taxing on the engine and transmission than stop-start city traffic. The Grey exterior is a highly sensible choice for the region, offering better heat management than darker tones and maintaining excellent demand in the secondary market.

Active vs Lower Trims

The Active serves as the foundational trim for the 3008 in the GCC, yet it still delivers the hallmark Peugeot i-Cockpit experience that buyers specifically look for. It includes the high-mounted digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system as standard, features that often require expensive upgrades in competing base models. While it skips the larger 19-inch wheels and massage seats found in the GT, the Active maintains the same core safety suite and cabin layout that defines the 3008 experience.

3008 vs Segment Rivals

The Peugeot 3008 leads rivals like the Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson in interior design and material quality, offering a cockpit-like feel that is unique in the compact SUV segment. While the Toyota RAV4 focuses on raw utility, the 3008 provides a more refined European ride quality that excels during long cross-border drives or high-speed highway cruising. Its fuel efficiency is a significant advantage, often outperforming naturally aspirated competitors in real-world GCC conditions.

Running Costs & Resale

With a manufacturer-claimed combined consumption of 4.9 L/100km (WLTP), the 3008 is exceptionally frugal for a family SUV, significantly lowering monthly petrol expenses in city traffic. Peugeot has a well-established authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts availability and professional maintenance. Historically, the 3008 retains approximately 60-65% of its value after three years in the GCC market, performing competitively against other European SUVs in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine is tuned for efficiency and smooth delivery, making it ideal for the steady speeds of UAE highways. While not designed for heavy sand dunes, the Four Wheel Drive system provides added stability and confidence on gravel tracks or during the occasional heavy rainfall seen in the region. The 8-speed automatic transmission ensures the engine stays in its most efficient power band, providing a relaxed experience during the daily commute between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around the driver, featuring a compact steering wheel that improves maneuverability in tight city parking. Dual-zone climate control and dedicated rear vents are standard, which are essential for maintaining passenger comfort during the peak of the GCC summer. The 520-litre boot is deep and practical for family grocery runs, and the cabin insulation effectively keeps out road noise and exterior heat during long-distance travels.

Safety

Peugeot prioritizes safety with a suite that includes multiple airbags and advanced stability control systems that are particularly useful on sand-dusted road surfaces. Standard driver aids like lane-keeping assistance and emergency braking provide an extra layer of protection during fast-moving highway traffic. The 3008 carries a strong safety reputation globally, giving GCC families peace of mind on every journey.

The bottom line

This Peugeot 3008 is a stylish, fuel-efficient opportunity for a professional or small family looking for a modern European SUV that is ready for the GCC’s demanding highway lifestyle.
