Summary

This 2024 Carrera GTS represents the final iteration of the pure-petrol 992.1 generation, making it a significant acquisition for enthusiasts who value the tactile engagement of a manual transmission. With mileage well below the GCC annual average, this example presents as nearly new and features a rare Purple exterior that commands attention and holds specific appeal for regional collectors. The GTS trim strikes a perfect balance, offering a sharper, more focused chassis than the Carrera S without the uncompromising stiffness of the GT3. For a buyer in the GCC, this car offers the best of both worlds: a highly collectible configuration and a powertrain that excels on the UAE’s open highways.

This Car vs Other 2024 911s

With just 2,751 km, this 911 has seen significantly less use than the typical 20,000 km annual average for GCC-based cars, preserving its mechanical integrity and showroom finish. The rare Purple exterior is a bold choice that stands out in a market dominated by white and silver, often commanding a premium among enthusiasts seeking a unique 'Paint to Sample' look. As a Japanese regional spec, this car offers a high standard of equipment and has been meticulously maintained, though buyers should verify local service compatibility with authorized UAE centers.

CARRERA GTS vs Lower Trims

The GTS trim adds substantial performance hardware over the Carrera S, including the high-performance braking system and helper springs from the 911 Turbo for superior body control. It also features standard Sport Chrono, Sport Exhaust, and GTS-specific interior appointments like Alcantara finishes and blacked-out trim that aren't standard on lower models. For the GCC driver, the standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is tuned 10mm lower, providing much sharper handling during high-speed maneuvers.

911 vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Aston Martin Vantage or Audi R8 offer distinct characters, the 911 GTS remains the segment leader for daily usability combined with track-ready performance. Its rear-engine layout provides unique traction advantages out of corners, and the 3.0-litre flat-six offers a more versatile power band for city traffic compared to larger displacement V8 competitors. The 911's cooling systems are also legendary for their ability to maintain performance even in the high ambient temperatures of the Gulf summer.

Running Costs & Resale

The Carrera GTS is historically one of the slowest-depreciating models in the Porsche lineup, often holding a high percentage of its value due to its 'sweet spot' status in the range. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or 12 months, and Porsche's authorized network across the UAE and wider GCC is extensive, ensuring easy access to specialized care. Real-world fuel consumption for this manual variant averages around 10.7 L/100km on a combined cycle, though GCC highway cruising often yields better efficiency.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six produces 480 PS, enabling a blistering 0-100 km/h sprint of just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 311 km/h. The 7-speed manual transmission offers a level of driver involvement that is increasingly rare in the modern supercar segment, making every gear change a rewarding experience. On the wide, fast-moving highways of the UAE, the GTS feels exceptionally stable, with rear-wheel drive providing a pure and communicative steering feel.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the GTS features a 4-seat configuration with a cabin focused on the driver, highlighted by the Alcantara-wrapped Sport Design steering wheel and supportive GTS Sport Seats. The air conditioning system is robustly engineered to provide rapid cabin cooling, a vital feature for comfortable driving during the intense GCC summer months. Acoustic insulation is well-balanced, allowing the mechanical symphony of the flat-six to enter the cabin while filtering out tiring road noise on long drives between Emirates.

Safety

This GTS comes equipped with Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and an advanced braking system that provides immense stopping power and fade resistance. Standard safety features include multiple airbags and a high-strength body structure, complemented by driver assistance systems like blind-spot monitoring, which is particularly useful on multi-lane GCC highways. The LED matrix headlights provide exceptional visibility during night drives through unlit desert sections.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a nearly-new, manual-transmission 992.1 GTS in a standout color, offering the perfect blend of collectibility and daily performance for the serious GCC enthusiast.
