Summary

This 2024 performance flagship offers a unique opportunity to own one of the most powerful production pickup trucks ever made during its final years of production. Despite being an American spec vehicle, its 48,000 km mileage is remarkably low for a GCC-based truck of this caliber, as these are often used for cross-country desert expeditions. The striking blue exterior provides a refreshing and high-value alternative to the standard grey and black versions typically seen on local roads. With its 702-horsepower supercharged engine and heavy-duty Bilstein suspension, it stands alone in a segment where most rivals require aftermarket modifications to reach this level of capability. For the buyer looking for a vehicle that can dominate both the sand dunes of Liwa and the high-speed highways between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, this specific listing represents an excellent entry point into elite truck ownership. The primary consideration for a GCC buyer is the raw performance-to-value ratio, which remains unmatched by any other factory-built competitor currently available in the region.

This Car vs Other 2024 1500s

While many 2024 models in the secondary market have already seen heavy usage as daily workhorses, this specific unit has been maintained with a focus on its performance pedigree. Across the GCC, it is common to see trucks of this age nearing the 60,000 km mark due to the long-distance nature of regional commuting; at 48,000 km, this vehicle sits comfortably below the regional average. The American specification often allows for a more diverse color palette, such as this vibrant blue, which stands out in a market heavily saturated with neutral tones. This lower-than-average mileage ensures that the high-stress components of the supercharged powertrain and the specialized adaptive damping system remain in peak condition. For a buyer targeting the 2024 model year, finding a truck that hasn't been subjected to extreme commercial use is a significant advantage. This vehicle bridges the gap between a showroom-fresh unit and a seasoned off-roader, providing the best of both worlds for a discerning owner.

TRX vs Lower Trims

Moving up to this trim level transforms the vehicle from a standard utility truck into a dedicated high-performance machine. Unlike the Rebel or Laramie trims, this version features a widened body by eight inches to accommodate a massive 6.2-liter supercharged V8 and specialized 35-inch all-terrain tires. Inside, you move away from standard materials to a cabin filled with carbon fiber accents, Alcantara upholstery, and the high-end 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system that is often an expensive option on lower tiers. GCC buyers will particularly value the upgraded cooling system, which includes a high-capacity air-induction system designed to filter out sand and debris while keeping the engine cool in 50°C temperatures. You also gain the flat-bottom steering wheel with aluminum paddle shifters, providing a sports-car feel that is entirely absent in the work-oriented trims. The inclusion of a Head-Up Display and a digital rearview mirror also ensures that visibility remains excellent despite the truck's massive proportions.

1500 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Ford F-150 Raptor or the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2, this truck commands a significant power advantage with its 702-horsepower output. While the Raptor relies on a twin-turbo V6 in its standard configuration, the TRX utilizes a massive displacement V8 that is better suited for the high-torque demands of deep sand driving in the UAE and Saudi deserts. It also offers a more sophisticated interior than the Tundra TRD Pro, featuring a 12-inch vertical touchscreen that remains the benchmark for pickup infotainment. The towing capacity and payload are engineered to handle heavy weekend toys, such as jet skis or car trailers, with more stability than its lighter-duty competitors. For long-distance GCC highway cruising, the active damping system provides a level of ride quality that mimics a luxury SUV, whereas many rivals can feel bouncy or unrefined when the bed is empty. It is simply the most over-engineered truck in its class, designed to survive conditions that would sideline most other pickups.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 in the GCC is a manageable experience given the relatively accessible petrol prices compared to global markets, though buyers should expect real-world consumption of around 19 liters per 100km in mixed driving. Highway efficiency improves significantly during steady 120 km/h cruises between emirates, aided by the smooth 8-speed automatic transmission. As an American spec vehicle, parts are widely available through independent specialists in the UAE and across the GCC, though it is important to note that it may not carry the local dealership warranty found on Al Futtaim or United Motors units. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, focusing on high-quality synthetic oils and air filter cleanings to combat local dust. Resale value for this specific trim remains exceptionally strong in the region, often depreciating at a slower rate than standard luxury SUVs because of its cult following and performance exclusivity. After three years, these trucks tend to retain a much higher percentage of their value than standard pickups, making it a relatively safe place to park your capital.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure is the staggering 0–100 km/h time of just 4.5 seconds, an incredible feat for a vehicle of this size and weight. This performance is governed by a launch control system that optimizes torque delivery for maximum traction on various surfaces, including sand. The Bilstein Black Hawk e2 active shocks are the heart of its capability, allowing the truck to soak up massive bumps at high speeds while remaining composed on the tarmac. With over 11 inches of ground clearance and a sophisticated Four Wheel Drive system featuring multiple terrain modes, it is one of the few vehicles that can tackle the 'Big Red' dunes straight from the showroom floor. The 702 horsepower makes highway overtaking effortless, providing a level of confidence on fast-moving UAE roads that few other vehicles can match. It also boasts a robust towing capacity of over 3,600 kg, ensuring you can pull a large boat or trailer without the engine ever feeling strained.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is designed to be a haven from the intense GCC heat, featuring a dual-zone climate control system known for its rapid cooling power. The five-seat layout offers massive amounts of legroom, particularly in the rear, where adults can sit comfortably even on long cross-border drives to Oman or Saudi Arabia. The seats are both heated and ventilated, a critical feature for summer driving in the region, ensuring comfort even when the exterior temperature peaks. High-quality materials like leather and suede-like Alcantara cover almost every surface, providing a premium feel that rivals high-end European SUVs. Sound insulation is surprisingly good, keeping the roar of the supercharger audible when you want it, but filtering out wind and tire noise at highway speeds. Multiple USB ports and a wireless charging pad ensure that all occupants stay connected during family road trips.

Safety

Safety is paramount in a vehicle designed for high-speed performance, and this trim comes equipped with an extensive suite of driver assistance technologies. Blind-spot monitoring is standard and is particularly useful on multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road where visibility around large trucks can be a challenge. It also features Forward Collision Warning with active braking and Adaptive Cruise Control, which significantly reduces driver fatigue during long desert commutes. The surround-view 360-degree camera system is a lifesaver when navigating tight city parking or technical off-road trails, allowing you to see obstacles that are normally hidden by the tall hood. Electronic Roll Mitigation and Stability Control are specifically tuned for the truck's higher center of gravity, providing an extra layer of protection during emergency maneuvers. The heavy-duty frame and multiple airbags ensure that this is one of the safest environments for a family on the road today.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who wants the absolute peak of American truck engineering, this 48,000 km TRX is a stand-out choice that balances incredible performance with a high-end interior. It is the perfect match for a UAE-based buyer who splits their time between professional city life and adventurous desert weekends.
