Summary

This 2024 Land Cruiser VXR offers a rare opportunity to own the high-torque diesel variant of the legendary 300 Series in a sought-after silver finish. With 46,000 km, this vehicle is just entering its prime, having been driven at a typical pace for the UAE's long-distance highway culture. As the range-topping VXR trim, it provides a significantly more luxurious cabin and advanced safety suite than the standard GXR models commonly found on the market. For the GCC buyer, the combination of Toyota's bulletproof reliability and the fuel efficiency of the twin-turbo diesel makes this a superior choice for both cross-emirate commuting and serious desert expeditions.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

At 46,000 km, this Land Cruiser aligns perfectly with the higher annual mileage typical of GCC highway driving, suggesting it has been used as a reliable long-distance cruiser. While many 2024 models are petrol, this diesel VXR stands out for its superior torque and range, offering a distinct advantage for heavy towing or desert use. The silver exterior is one of the top three resale colors in the region, ensuring it remains highly liquid in the used market.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR is the flagship luxury tier, adding a 14-speaker JBL premium audio system and four-zone climate control over the GXR. Passengers benefit from ventilated second-row seats and a powered third row, features that are essential for family comfort during peak GCC summer months. It also upgrades the tech experience with a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a large Head-Up Display, and a 360-degree Multi-Terrain Monitor for effortless parking and off-roading.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Nissan Patrol offer high-output V8 engines, the Land Cruiser 300's diesel powertrain provides a massive 700 Nm of torque that leads the segment for low-end pulling power. Its 110-litre fuel tank ensures a significantly longer range between fill-ups compared to the petrol-only Chevrolet Tahoe, making it ideal for the long Riyadh-to-Dubai drives. Furthermore, Toyota's body-on-frame construction offers a level of durability in deep sand that monocoque competitors cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

Toyota remains the champion of value retention in the GCC, with the 300 Series seeing some of the lowest depreciation rates in the SUV segment. Real-world diesel consumption is highly competitive, typically averaging 8.9 to 9.8 L/100km, which significantly reduces long-term running costs compared to petrol V8 alternatives. With the most extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, maintenance is convenient and parts availability is guaranteed.

Performance & Capability

The 3.3L twin-turbo diesel V6 delivers a massive 700 Nm of torque, enabling a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity that makes hauling large boats or trailers effortless. Off-road, the standard Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control systems take the guesswork out of navigating Liwa's dunes or rocky wadis. On the highway, the 10-speed automatic transmission keeps the engine in its most efficient power band, providing smooth overtaking power at high speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The VXR cabin is designed for the extreme Middle Eastern climate, featuring high-capacity air conditioning with dedicated vents for all three rows and front and rear ventilated seats. Acoustic glass and enhanced insulation keep the interior quiet, even during high-speed highway cruising or heavy sandstorms. The seven-seat layout is highly versatile, featuring premium leather finishes and a cooled center console refrigerator to keep beverages cold on long summer trips.

Safety

This VXR is equipped with the full Toyota Safety Sense suite, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Trace Assist, which are invaluable for reducing fatigue on long desert highways. The 360-degree camera and Blind Spot Monitoring provide essential visibility for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic in Dubai and Riyadh. With 10 airbags standard and a 5-star ANCAP safety rating, it offers premier protection for family and passengers.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a buyer seeking the ultimate balance of flagship luxury and heavy-duty diesel capability in a color that guarantees long-term resale value.
