Summary

This 2025 MG One LUX offers a high-tech crossover experience tailored for the GCC, featuring a localized cooling system and the range-topping luxury suite. The green exterior is a distinctive choice for the regional market, providing a modern alternative to traditional white or silver while maintaining strong curb appeal. As the LUX trim, it stands out with advanced driver-assistance systems and a digital cockpit that often commands a much higher price in European rivals. For a buyer in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, this provides the ideal balance of turbocharged efficiency for the city and confident power for inter-city highway runs. This specific listing represents a modern opportunity to own MG's most contemporary SUV design with full regional specifications.

This Car vs Other 2025 MG Ones

With 57,624 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven more than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for the GCC, suggesting it has likely handled consistent highway commutes between Emirates. This usage pattern often results in less wear on the brakes and transmission compared to stop-start city driving. The unique green finish sets it apart in a market dominated by monochrome tones, offering better visibility and a modern aesthetic.

LUX vs Lower Trims

The LUX trim is a significant step up from the STD and COM variants, most notably adding the full MG Pilot ADAS suite including Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Monitoring. Inside, the LUX replaces standard materials with premium leather sports seats and adds a panoramic sunroof that brightens the cabin. You also benefit from the larger 19-inch alloy wheels and the high-definition 360-degree camera system, which are essential for navigating tight parking in major GCC cities.

One vs Segment Rivals

The MG One competes directly with the Haval Jolion and Changan CS55 Plus, leading the segment with its unique 30-inch triple-screen interface that combines the instrument cluster and infotainment into one seamless panel. Its 181 hp output provides a more spirited drive than many naturally aspirated competitors in the same price bracket. Furthermore, the MG One's SIGMA architecture is designed for better cabin insulation, a critical factor during the extreme heat of the Gulf summer.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 1.5L turbo engine typically averages around 7.0 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, making it an economical choice for long-distance commuters. MG has one of the fastest-growing service networks in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with parts readily available through authorized distributors. While Chinese brands generally face steeper initial depreciation than Japanese rivals, the MG One's high tech-per-Dirham ratio helps it retain value better than budget-focused alternatives.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine delivers a punchy 181 hp and 285 Nm of torque, allowing for a verified 0-100 km/h sprint of 8.8 seconds. The CVT transmission is specifically tuned to provide smooth power delivery during highway overtaking and efficient cruising at 120 km/h. While strictly a front-wheel-drive urban crossover, its 1617 mm height and 19-inch wheels provide enough ground clearance to handle occasional gravel paths and speed bumps with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is defined by the massive 30-inch digital wrap-around display, which creates a cockpit-like feel for the driver. The dual-zone climate control is built to handle 45°C+ temperatures, supported by dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers comfortable. Acoustic glass helps minimize wind noise during high-speed desert highway drives, while the panoramic sunroof features a high-quality sunblind to manage solar heat gain during peak summer months.

Safety

The LUX trim is equipped with the comprehensive MG Pilot safety suite, featuring Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and Traffic Jam Assist. These systems are particularly valuable for the fast-paced multi-lane highways of the UAE. Passive safety is managed by six airbags and a high-strength steel cage construction, ensuring a high level of protection for family use.

The bottom line

This MG One LUX is the perfect fit for a tech-focused professional or small family looking for a nearly new, high-spec SUV that doesn't compromise on features or safety. It offers premium digital luxury and localized GCC cooling at a significantly lower entry point than its European or Japanese segment rivals.
