MG RX9 Luxury

Highlights

• 235 hp from a 2.0L turbocharged engine
• 12-speaker Bose audio system standard
• Ventilated front seats standard

Summary

This 2025 MG RX9 LUX represents the flagship of the MG lineup, offering a premium seven-seat experience that competes directly with established full-size SUVs. With just 20,900 km, this vehicle sits well below the typical 25,000 km annual average for the GCC, making it a nearly-new opportunity with significant warranty remaining. The Green exterior is a sophisticated, standout choice that highlights the modern 'Starburst' grille and flush door handles. As the top-tier LUX trim, it is equipped with high-value features like Nappa leather and an advanced ADAS suite, which are essential for navigating busy multi-lane highways in Dubai or Riyadh. For the GCC family buyer, this model offers the rare combination of massive cabin volume and contemporary tech at a much more accessible entry point than European rivals.

This Car vs Other 2025 MG RX9s

At 20,900 km, this RX9 is currently in a 'low-mileage' bracket for the GCC market, where 2025 models are often reaching 30,000 km due to heavy commuting between emirates. The Green finish is a premium nature-inspired tone that offers a unique alternative to the standard white and silver palette, maintaining strong niche appeal for resale. Choosing a 2025 model ensures you are benefiting from the very latest generation of MG’s flagship tech and chassis refinements.

LUX vs Lower Trims

The LUX trim is a significant step up from the COM and STD levels, most notably adding ventilated front seats which are a necessity for the GCC summer. It upgrades the interior to premium Nappa leather and adds a panoramic sunroof and a 12-speaker Bose surround sound system. Safety is also prioritized in this trim with the full Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), including Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist.

RX9 vs Segment Rivals

The RX9 leads its segment with the widest body in its class at 1,967mm, providing superior shoulder room compared to the Kia Sorento or Hyundai Santa Fe. While rivals often reserve premium audio and ventilated seating for much more expensive 'Limited' packages, the RX9 LUX includes these as standard. Its 2,915mm wheelbase ensures a more stable highway ride and better legroom in the third row than many mid-size 7-seaters.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect a real-world fuel consumption of approximately 14.8 km/L, which is highly competitive for a 7-seater petrol SUV during long-distance GCC highway cruising. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km or 6 months at authorized MG centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring the 6-year/200,000 km warranty remains intact. MG's growing presence and long warranty periods help maintain higher residual values compared to older Chinese-branded entrants in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L 'Net Blue' turbocharged engine delivers 235 hp and 392 Nm of torque, providing confident overtaking power for the 140 km/h zones on the E11 highway. The intelligent 4WD system features five selectable modes, including specific settings for Snow/Sand and Off-Road, making it capable for weekend desert excursions or beach trips. Power is managed via a smooth 9-speed automatic transmission designed for refinement and fuel efficiency at high cruising speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around 'Cloud Nine' comfort, featuring 140-degree reclining second-row seats that provide a first-class travel experience for the family. Triple-zone climate control with dedicated vents for all three rows ensures the cabin stays cool even when temperatures exceed 45°C. Technology is front-and-center with dual 12.3-inch displays that integrate seamlessly with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety

This LUX trim features a comprehensive safety package including six airbags and a 360-degree high-definition camera system for easy parking in tight city spaces. The standard ADAS suite provides critical protection with Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. These systems are specifically tuned to assist drivers in fast-moving, high-density GCC traffic environments.

The bottom line

This MG RX9 LUX is the ideal choice for a growing family that wants flagship luxury and modern safety tech without the high depreciation of European brands. With low mileage and a high-spec interior, it offers exceptional value for a 2025 model in the current GCC market.
