Summary

This 2026 BMW 840i Gran Coupe represents a rare opportunity to own a current-model executive sedan with exceptionally low mileage that effectively places it in showroom condition. Finished in Grey, a color known for maintaining high resale appeal in the UAE market, this M Sport-packaged example balances aggressive aesthetics with a highly refined six-cylinder powertrain. As one of the final pure internal combustion grand tourers in its class, it offers a level of mechanical engagement and provenance that modern hybrids often lack. For the GCC buyer, the combination of a factory-fresh feel and a highly sought-after specification makes this a standout choice for both daily executive use and long-distance travel between emirates.

This Car vs Other 2026 840i Gran Coupes

With just 6,488 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits significantly below the typical GCC annual average of 20,000 km, representing a 'nearly new' buying advantage. While most 2026 models in the region will have already entered their primary service cycles, this example remains in a pristine state. The Grey exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, offering a neutral yet premium aesthetic that historically retains value better than more niche colors.

Luxury M Sport Package vs Lower Trims

The M Sport Package upgrades the standard luxury trim with an aerodynamic body kit, M-specific steering wheel, and high-performance blue-caliper brakes that provide superior stopping power in fast-moving highway traffic. Inside, this trim adds Extended Merino Leather and multi-functional seats that include essential cooling features for the GCC summer. These additions, alongside the standard Head-up Display and soft-close doors, create a significantly more premium environment than the base 840i.

840i Gran Coupe vs Segment Rivals

The 840i Gran Coupe leads rivals like the Mercedes-Benz CLS and Audi A7 by offering a more driver-centric chassis and the acclaimed B58 inline-six engine, which is widely regarded for its reliability and smooth power delivery. Its 440-litre boot provides practical cargo space for weekend trips, while the standard four-zone climate control ensures rear-seat passengers stay comfortable in extreme desert heat. The 8 Series also benefits from a wider, more athletic stance that offers greater presence on the road compared to its peers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L turbocharged engine typically averages around 7.5 to 8.5 L/100km during highway cruises, making it efficient for travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. GCC spec vehicles like this one benefit from a strong authorized service network across the UAE and wider region, ensuring specialized maintenance is always accessible. While European luxury sedans generally see a 12-15% annual depreciation in the local market, the 840i Gran Coupe’s status as one of the final pure-combustion models in BMW's lineup helps it retain a unique desirability among enthusiasts.

Performance & Capability

The 340 hp TwinPower Turbo engine propels this sedan from 0–100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, providing effortless overtaking capability on fast GCC highways. The rear-wheel-drive layout and adaptive suspension allow for precise handling while maintaining the ride comfort expected of a luxury grand tourer. Multiple drive modes, including Eco Pro and Sport, allow the driver to tailor the vehicle’s response to either congested city traffic or open desert roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of high-grade materials, featuring a 12.3-inch central display and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system that provides an immersive audio experience. Climate comfort is prioritized with a powerful four-zone automatic system and ventilated front seats, which are indispensable for maintaining comfort during peak summer months. The Gran Coupe silhouette offers a genuinely usable rear seat for three passengers, making it a viable executive family car without sacrificing the sleek profile of a coupe.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include a comprehensive ADAS suite with forward collision mitigation, lane-keeping assistance, and a full-color Head-up Display that keeps vital information in the driver's line of sight. For GCC highway driving, the blind-spot monitoring and adaptive LED headlights with swiveling functionality are particularly effective for navigating high-speed traffic at night. The vehicle is also equipped with a robust airbag system and stability control systems optimized for high-speed stability and varying road surfaces.

The bottom line

This is a prime opportunity for a buyer seeking a showroom-quality grand tourer that avoids the immediate depreciation of a brand-new car while retaining its full performance and luxury potential.
