Summary

This 2026 Changan X5 Plus in Beyond Pro trim offers a high-tech entry point into the SUV segment, perfect for urban professionals in the GCC looking for a sporty yet practical daily driver. The Blue Whale 1.5T engine provides class-leading acceleration that makes highway merging effortless, while the black exterior is a safe choice for maintaining resale value in the local market. Compared to standard trims, the Beyond Pro adds essential features like rear AC vents and ventilated seating materials that are vital for the intense GCC summer. With a generous wheelbase for its class, it balances a compact footprint for city parking with enough interior room for a young family.

This Car vs Other 2026 X5 Pluses

As a current-year model with minimal age, this listing represents the latest generation of Changan's sporty SUV design. In the GCC market, where newer Chinese vehicles are rapidly gaining trust, this car stands out for its high standard specification compared to the higher-mileage alternatives typically found in the used segment. The black exterior is one of the most popular and easiest colors to resell in the region.

BEYOND PRO vs Lower Trims

The Beyond Pro trim is a significant step up from the Pioneer, adding a 30-inch wraparound triple-screen setup that transforms the cabin into a digital cockpit. Crucially for the GCC climate, it includes dedicated rear air conditioning vents and dual-zone climate control, features often missing in lower specifications. You also benefit from a 540-degree panoramic camera system with a transparent chassis view, making tight parking maneuvers much easier.

X5 Plus vs Segment Rivals

The X5 Plus competes directly with the Haval H6 and Geely Boyue, leading with a more aggressive coupe-SUV silhouette and a 0-100 km/h time of 7.51 seconds that outpaces many Japanese rivals in the same price bracket. Its 2,715mm wheelbase is optimized for cabin space, offering more rear legroom than the Toyota Corolla Cross. The inclusion of a multi-link rear independent suspension ensures a more composed ride on high-speed desert highways compared to competitors using simpler torsion beams.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption is highly efficient, rated at approximately 6.95L/100km (WLTC), which translates well to GCC highway cruising and stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals for Changan are typically every 10,000 km, and with a growing authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, parts availability is becoming increasingly robust. As a Chinese spec vehicle, it offers a high feature-to-price ratio, though buyers should verify local warranty compatibility with the authorized distributor.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre Blue Whale engine delivers a punchy 192 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque, paired with a smooth 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. While primarily an on-road sporty crossover, the 170mm ground clearance provides enough confidence for gravel paths and typical urban obstacles. The front-wheel-drive setup is tuned for agility, making it a responsive companion for cross-emirate commutes.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Beyond Pro features perforated faux-leather sports seats with red stitching that provide excellent lateral support during spirited drives. The cabin is insulated for summer comfort with PM0.1 air filtration and an openable panoramic sunroof that includes a powered sunshade to block the midday sun. Technology is at the forefront, featuring a Sony 6-speaker audio system and full-scene voice control to manage the infotainment without taking your hands off the wheel.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including front and side airbags, electronic stability control, and hill-start assist. The Beyond Pro adds Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, which are particularly useful for reducing driver fatigue on long highway stretches like the E11. The 540-degree camera system provides a virtual view under the car, helping drivers avoid hidden hazards and high curbs.

The bottom line

For the tech-focused buyer who wants a new-generation SUV with premium interior features without the premium price tag, this 2026 X5 Plus Beyond Pro is a top-tier choice.
