Summary

This 2026 Changan X5 Plus Beyond Pro arrives as a compelling alternative to established compact SUVs, offering a blend of aggressive styling and high-tier tech that usually commands a much higher premium. As a brand-new vehicle, it offers the peace of mind of zero wear and tear, paired with a modern Grey finish that remains a top-performing resale color in the GCC market. The Beyond Pro trim is the sweet spot for tech-focused buyers, featuring the signature triple-screen cockpit and a comprehensive safety suite. For a GCC buyer, this model stands out for its high-pressure direct injection engine, which provides the low-end torque needed for confident highway merging and overtaking in fast-moving traffic. It is an ideal choice for those seeking the latest automotive innovations without the typical depreciation curve of European luxury brands.

This Car vs Other 2026 X5 Pluses

As a brand-new 2026 model, this X5 Plus has zero mileage, placing it ahead of any used alternatives currently entering the market. While the average GCC vehicle covers 20,000 to 25,000 km annually, this car represents a fresh start with full mechanical longevity ahead of it. The Grey exterior is a highly strategic choice for the region, offering excellent heat reflection compared to darker tones and maintaining strong demand in the secondary market.

BEYOND PRO vs Lower Trims

The Beyond Pro trim is a significant leap over the Pioneer and Luxury variants, most notably adding the 30-inch wraparound triple-screen display that defines the interior. It also introduces essential GCC comfort features like rear air conditioning vents and a panoramic sunroof with a powered sunshade to block out the midday sun. Furthermore, this trim includes the 540-degree panoramic camera system with a transparent chassis view, making tight urban parking considerably safer.

X5 Plus vs Segment Rivals

The X5 Plus competes directly with the GAC GS3 Emzoom and Geely Coolray, leading the segment with a 2,715 mm wheelbase that provides superior rear legroom for family use. Its 1.5L Blue Whale engine produces 192 hp, outclassing many entry-level Japanese rivals that rely on naturally aspirated engines. Additionally, the 584-liter boot capacity is one of the largest in the compact class, making it better suited for weekend trips between Emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

The Blue Whale 1.5T engine is designed for efficiency, achieving a WLTC combined fuel consumption of approximately 6.95 L/100 km, which is excellent for a car with nearly 200 horsepower. It is optimized to run on 92-octane gasoline, helping keep daily running costs low across the GCC. While Changan's authorized service network is rapidly expanding in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, buyers should expect a depreciation rate slightly higher than Japanese stalwarts, though the X5 Plus typically retains 63-67% of its value after three years.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure is the 7.51-second 0-100 km/h acceleration, which provides the punchy response required for navigating the UAE's multi-lane highways. The 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission is tuned for smooth shifts in stop-and-start city traffic while maintaining a top speed of 205 km/h for long-distance cruising. A fully independent multi-link rear suspension—rare at this price point—ensures the car remains composed and comfortable over varied road surfaces.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is dominated by a futuristic 30-inch triple-screen setup that angles toward the driver for better ergonomics. The Beyond Pro trim features perforated faux leather sports seats with red stitching, providing both a premium feel and durable support for long drives. To combat the GCC summer, the vehicle is equipped with a high-capacity automatic climate control system with dedicated rear vents and a PM2.5 air filtration system to ensure clean cabin air during dusty conditions.

Safety

The Beyond Pro comes equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control and Automatic Emergency Braking, which are invaluable for reducing fatigue on long desert highway stretches. The 540-degree camera system provides a 'transparent' view of the ground beneath the car, helping drivers avoid high curbs or debris. Standard safety equipment also includes front and side airbags, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX anchors for secure child seat installation.

The bottom line

This 2026 Changan X5 Plus Beyond Pro is the perfect match for a tech-savvy professional or a small family looking for a high-performance, feature-rich SUV with zero-kilometer reliability. It offers a level of interior technology and acceleration that is simply unmatched at this price point in the current GCC market.
