Summary

This 2026 Changan X5 Plus Beyond Pro is a high-spec crossover that offers impressive tech and performance for the GCC market. With a punchy 1.5L turbo engine producing 192 hp, it outpaces most compact rivals while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency. The White exterior is the top choice for local resale and handles the intense heat far better than darker shades. This Beyond Pro trim adds essential regional upgrades like rear AC vents and a full L2 ADAS suite, making it a much more comfortable family vehicle than the base models. For a buyer wanting a brand-new, tech-heavy SUV with high horsepower and low running costs, this is currently one of the strongest options in the region.

This Car vs Other 2026 X5 Pluses

As a 2026 model with zero mileage, this vehicle represents the latest evolution of the X5 Plus lineup, featuring the second-generation interior and upgraded 500-bar high-pressure direct injection engine. In a market where high highway use is common, starting with zero kilometers ensures a full mechanical lifespan and maximum warranty coverage. The White paint is a strategic advantage for GCC buyers, as it is the most requested color for resale and significantly reduces cabin heat soak during the summer months.

BEYOND PRO vs Lower Trims

The Beyond Pro is a significant step up from the Pioneer and Comfort trims, adding a triple-screen 30-inch digital interaction system and a 540-degree transparent chassis camera that is perfect for navigating tight parking spots in Dubai or Riyadh. Crucially for the GCC climate, this trim includes dedicated rear air conditioning vents and an automatic constant temperature system with a PM2.5 filter. You also gain a panoramic sunroof with a powered sunshade, perforated sports seats with electric adjustment, and a premium 6-speaker Sony sound system that is absent on lower versions.

X5 Plus vs Segment Rivals

The X5 Plus stands out against rivals like the Chery Tiggo 7 and Geely Coolray by offering a class-leading 192 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque, which provides much safer overtaking power on long desert highways. Its 2715 mm wheelbase is among the longest in the compact crossover segment, providing superior rear legroom for family trips across the emirates. While competitors often use CVTs, the Changan uses a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission designed for better durability under high-load and high-heat conditions.

Running Costs & Resale

With a WLTC rated consumption of 6.95 L/100km, the X5 Plus is highly economical for daily commutes between Sharjah and Dubai or across Riyadh's city traffic. Changan has built one of the most extensive authorized service networks for Chinese brands in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts availability and professional maintenance. While Chinese brands typically see higher initial depreciation than Japanese marques, the X5 Plus holds its value well among tech-focused buyers due to its high standard spec, usually retaining roughly 55-60% of its value over three years in the GCC market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L Blue Whale turbo engine is the star of the show, delivering a 0-100 km/h time of 7.51 seconds that rivals many sports-oriented crossovers. This power is managed through three distinct drive modes—Sport, Economy, and Comfort—allowing you to stiffen the response for highway sprints or soften it for city traffic. The chassis uses a multi-link independent rear suspension, a rare feature at this price point that provides much more stability and comfort during high-speed highway cruising than the torsion beams found in many rivals.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the long-haul comfort required in the GCC, featuring ergonomic leatherette sports seats with red stitching and a driver-oriented cockpit. The triple-screen setup provides a futuristic feel while the powerful air conditioning system is specifically built to handle 45°C+ temperatures with independent rear outlets. With 584 liters of boot space—expandable to 1,318 liters—it easily accommodates family airport runs or camping gear for weekend trips to the desert periphery.

Safety

The Beyond Pro trim is equipped with a full L2 Intelligent Driving Assistance suite, featuring adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning which are invaluable for staying safe on fast-moving multi-lane highways. The unique 540-degree camera system includes a 'transparent chassis' view, allowing you to see obstacles directly beneath the car on gravel roads. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, electronic stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system that alerts you to heat-related pressure changes instantly.

The bottom line

For the modern GCC buyer, this 2026 X5 Plus Beyond Pro offers the perfect mix of high-end digital tech and class-leading power in a color that maximizes resale value. It is a smart, tech-first alternative to the traditional crossover segment that doesn't sacrifice the cooling or space needed for regional life.
