• Ten airbags standard
• 14-speaker Sony surround sound system standard

Summary

This 2026 Chery Tiggo 9 Premium offers a near-new ownership experience with significantly lower mileage than the typical 25,000 km annual GCC average. Finished in black, a high-demand resale color in the UAE, this flagship SUV combines a sophisticated four-wheel-drive system with a premium three-row cabin. It stands out in the segment by offering high-end features like a head-up display and ventilated seating as standard, which are often costly options on rivals. For a GCC buyer, the balance of a modern turbocharged powertrain and an extensive local service network makes this a highly practical family choice.

This Car vs Other 2026 Tiggo 9s

With just 18,735 km on the odometer, this Tiggo 9 sits well below the average mileage expected for a vehicle of this age in the GCC market. The black exterior is not only a timeless aesthetic choice but also serves as a strong advantage for future resale value in the region. Choosing this specific unit allows a buyer to secure a flagship Premium trim vehicle that is still well within its early mechanical life.

PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience over the base models, adding a 14-speaker Sony audio system and a head-up display that enhances safety during high-speed highway commutes. It also includes luxury essentials for the GCC climate, such as ventilated front seats and a dedicated multi-zone climate system with N95 air filtration. While lower trims may lack the intelligent four-wheel-drive system, this Premium variant ensures maximum traction for weekend family trips.

Tiggo 9 vs Segment Rivals

The Tiggo 9 competes directly with established family SUVs like the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe, leading the segment in standard technology and interior material quality at its price point. Its 2.0L turbocharged engine offers a competitive 400 Nm of torque, providing better overtaking confidence on multi-lane highways compared to naturally aspirated rivals. Additionally, the inclusion of 10 airbags as standard sets a higher safety benchmark than many entry-level competitors in the class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0T AWD powertrain typically averages around 8.3 L/100km, though this can vary during stop-start Dubai or Riyadh traffic. Chery has significantly strengthened its GCC presence, with authorized service centers managed by major groups like AW Rostamani in the UAE, ensuring parts are readily available. The brand's increasing market share and long-term warranties help maintain competitive value retention, typically seeing depreciation patterns similar to established Korean brands.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L TGDI engine delivers 261 hp, enabling smooth acceleration and a manufacturer-referenced top speed of approximately 205 km/h. Its intelligent all-wheel-drive system features seven selectable driving modes, including specific settings for sand and mud, making it capable for light desert excursions and gravel tracks. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for refinement, ensuring a quiet and composed ride during long cross-border drives between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

This seven-seater features a spacious layout with a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital cockpit as the centerpieces of the interior. The GCC-specific cooling requirements are met by powerful dual-zone automatic climate control and ventilated front seats, ensuring comfort even when summer temperatures exceed 45°C. High-quality Nappa leather and a panoramic sunroof create an upscale atmosphere for all three rows of passengers.

Safety

The Tiggo 9 Premium comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring, which are vital for fast-paced GCC highway driving. The vehicle's structural integrity is supported by a body composed of 85% high-strength steel, complemented by a class-leading 10-airbag system. A 540-degree panoramic camera system also comes standard, providing a clear view of the vehicle's surroundings for easier parking in tight urban spaces.

The bottom line

This Tiggo 9 Premium is an ideal choice for a family seeking a high-spec, low-mileage SUV that handles the UAE's climate and highways with ease. It offers a luxury-tier interior and flagship safety features at a far more accessible price point than traditional European or Japanese alternatives.
