Summary

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP is a high-performance Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) that offers a unique solution for GCC drivers who want electric efficiency without range anxiety. With 476 hp and a 1.5L turbocharged generator, it provides a quiet, fully electric driving experience while maintaining a massive 1,115 km total range for cross-border UAE and Saudi trips. The 6-seat VIP trim is the most desirable configuration, featuring second-row aviation chairs that transform the cabin into a luxury lounge. Finished in Starlit Night Black, a top-performing color for resale in the region, this SUV stands out as a tech-forward alternative to traditional luxury off-roaders. For a 2026 model, this vehicle offers the latest in Chinese EV innovation with a rugged Pininfarina-designed exterior built for the modern GCC lifestyle.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

As a 2026 model, this vehicle represents the absolute latest software and hardware revisions for the ROX 01. Compared to typical annual highway mileage in the UAE, which often exceeds 25,000 km, a 2026 model ensures a fresh mechanical lifecycle and maximum remaining battery health. The Obsidian Black exterior is a high-demand choice in the GCC used market, offering superior resale strength compared to brighter or niche launch colors.

VIP vs Lower Trims

The VIP trim is a significant step up from the standard All-Purpose 7-seat configuration, trading the rear bench for two ultra-comfortable aviation-style captain's chairs. These VIP seats offer 12-way electric adjustment, zero-gravity reclining, ventilation, heating, and an 8-point spa massage system—features essential for comfort during long desert drives. Additionally, this trim includes a larger 15.6-inch rear entertainment screen and upgraded interior materials that elevate it into the executive SUV category.

01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 leads its segment by offering a 1,115 km total range (WLTC), significantly outperforming pure EVs like the Tesla Model X or high-consumption petrol SUVs like the Nissan Patrol on long-distance efficiency. Designed by Pininfarina, it offers a rugged aesthetic similar to the Land Rover Defender but with a more advanced range-extender powertrain that remains efficient in GCC stop-start city traffic. Its 700 mm wading depth and dedicated sand mode make it a genuine contender for weekend adventures that most luxury crossovers cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

The REEV powertrain delivers a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 7.95 L/100 km when the battery is depleted, which is remarkably low for a full-size SUV in the GCC. Regular service intervals are expected at 10,000 km, with authorized service coverage now expanding across major hubs in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain via partners like Adamas Motors. While Chinese luxury brands are newer to the market, the ROX 01's unique range-extender tech and 5-year/150,000 km warranty provide a strong foundation for value retention.

Performance & Capability

The 0–100 km/h sprint in 5.5 seconds is exceptional for a 2.7-ton SUV, powered by a dual-motor AWD system producing 740 Nm of torque. This torque is available instantly, making highway overtaking effortless and providing precise control in deep sand. It features five dedicated ROX Terrain Modes—Snow, Mud, Rock, Sand, and Wade—supported by a 205 mm ground clearance and an intelligent 3D transparent chassis that allows you to see obstacles directly beneath the vehicle.

Comfort & Cabin

The 6-seat layout is focused on second-row luxury, featuring two independent power-sliding seats with heated leg rests and a dedicated climate zone. For the GCC summer, the triple-zone AC system is supplemented by ventilated seats in both the first and second rows, ensuring comfort even in 45°C+ heat. The cabin is further enhanced by 256-color ambient lighting, a 15.7-inch 3K central display, and double-layer acoustic glass for a silent driving experience on the highway.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the VIP trim includes a comprehensive ADAS suite with 360° surround-view cameras, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring—highly beneficial for high-speed multi-lane UAE highways. The vehicle is built on a high-strength body-in-white structure that earned a 5-star safety design rating, supported by 9 airbags and an advanced collision avoidance system that uses LiDAR for precise obstacle detection.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking the utility of a Land Rover with the quiet efficiency of an EV, this 2026 ROX 01 VIP is the perfect high-tech solution. Its rare 6-seat aviation layout and massive combined range make it one of the most versatile luxury SUVs currently available in the market.
