Summary

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP offers a unique blend of rugged Italian-designed aesthetics and high-tech efficiency, making it a compelling alternative to established luxury off-roaders. With its range-extended hybrid powertrain, it provides the quiet confidence of an electric vehicle for city commutes while eliminating range anxiety for cross-border GCC road trips. The VIP trim is the most desirable configuration in the local market, featuring a luxurious six-seat layout that prioritizes second-row comfort with aviation-grade seating. Dressed in white, the most sought-after resale color in the Middle East, this SUV is perfectly suited for the region's climate thanks to its high-capacity cooling systems and specialized thermal management. For a buyer looking for flagship scale and modern tech without the typical fuel costs of a large SUV, this is an standout opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

As a 2026 model, this vehicle represents the latest iteration of the 01, benefiting from refined software and optimized battery management compared to early production units. In the GCC market, where yearly mileage often exceeds 20,000 km, a newer model year provides a distinct advantage in terms of component longevity and remaining warranty support. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the region, offering the highest heat reflection during summer and ensuring the strongest possible resale value when it eventually returns to the used market.

VIP vs Lower Trims

The VIP trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience by replacing the standard three-across middle bench with two individual 'zero-gravity' captain chairs. These seats include power adjustment, heating, ventilation, and massage functions, which are essential for long-distance comfort in the GCC. Additionally, the VIP specification typically adds the 15.6-inch rear entertainment screen and upgraded Nappa leather upholstery, features that local buyers increasingly expect in the luxury SUV segment.

01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 is frequently cross-shipped with the Li Auto L8 and L9, but it sets itself apart with a more rugged, Pininfarina-designed exterior that echoes classic off-roaders like the Defender. While rivals focus heavily on road-going tech, the 01 offers a dedicated 'Wade' mode and a substantial 700 mm wading depth, making it better prepared for the sudden heavy rains and localized flooding occasionally seen in UAE cities. Its 70-liter fuel tank also ensures a longer total range than many purely electric competitors, a major plus for those traveling between Riyadh and Dubai.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the range-extender system typically averages around 8.5L to 9.5L/100km on high-speed GCC highways, a massive improvement over traditional V8 SUVs in this size class. The vehicle is designed to run on 95 octane fuel, which is standard across all UAE and Saudi gas stations. While ROX is a newer brand, its regional presence is expanding through established distributors like Futures Trans Motors in the UAE and Laith Al-Obaidi Group in Saudi Arabia. Resale value for top-tier Chinese hybrids in the GCC is currently stabilizing as the service network grows, with the VIP trim holding a premium over the 7-seat family version.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a dual-motor AWD system producing 470 hp and 740 Nm of torque, the ROX 01 hits 0-100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on the E11 highway. The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine acts solely as a generator, meaning the driving experience is always smooth and electric, even when the battery is low. For weekend adventures, the selectable terrain modes—including Sand and Rock—utilize the instant electric torque to navigate soft dunes or gravel tracks with surprising ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary against the Middle Eastern heat, featuring a high-capacity 3-zone climate control system and UV-blocking sunshades. The VIP 6-seat layout ensures every passenger has ample personal space, with the second row offering specialized 'aviation' seats that include leg rests for a first-class travel experience. Double-glazed acoustic glass significantly reduces wind and road noise, ensuring the premium audio system remains clear even at highway speeds. Tech-savvy families will appreciate the multiple wireless charging pads and the large 15.7-inch central 3K touchscreen.

Safety

The ROX 01 VIP comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite that includes Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Monitoring, both of which are invaluable for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic. Standard safety hardware includes a 360-degree high-definition camera system for parking such a large vehicle in tight urban spaces, along with Lane Keeping Assist and Forward Collision Warning. The battery itself is protected by an underbody skid plate and a robust thermal management system designed to withstand extreme ambient temperatures exceeding 50°C.

The bottom line

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP is the ideal choice for a modern GCC family that wants the luxury and presence of a full-size SUV with the efficiency of a hybrid, especially in this high-demand VIP configuration.
