Summary

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP is a compelling entry into the high-end hybrid SUV market, offering a unique blend of rugged Pininfarina design and extreme long-range capability. As a six-seater with second-row aviation seats, it provides a luxury experience that rivals established executive cruisers while maintaining genuine off-road credentials. The grey exterior is a highly stable resale choice in the GCC, and its low-mileage status as a 2026 model makes it a standout for buyers wanting the latest technology. With a 1.5L turbocharged range-extender system, it solves the range anxiety common with pure EVs while delivering the smooth, high-torque driving feel of an electric powertrain. For the GCC buyer, this represents a forward-thinking alternative to traditional petrol V8s, offering significant fuel savings without sacrificing the presence or space required for regional family life.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

As a 2026 model, this vehicle represents the most current iteration of the ROX 01, featuring the latest software optimizations for its dual-motor setup. Given its recent release, the mileage is exceptionally low for the GCC market, where annual averages typically exceed 25,000 km. The grey finish is one of the most sought-after colors for this model in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring it holds its value better than more niche exterior palettes.

VIP vs Lower Trims

The VIP trim is defined by its 2+2+2 seating configuration, replacing the standard second-row bench with individual aviation-grade captain chairs. These seats feature 12-way electric adjustment, eight-point spa massage, and dedicated heating and ventilation—essential for GCC summers. Additionally, the VIP trim standardizes the 15.6-inch rear entertainment screen and the premium 21-inch dual-tone wheels which are often optional on lower configurations.

ROX 01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 primarily competes with the Li Auto L9 and the Land Rover Defender 130. It leads the segment in specialized outdoor utility, offering a unique integrated rear kitchen system and a 700 mm wading depth that surpasses many road-biased hybrid rivals. Its 70-liter fuel tank combined with a 56.01 kWh battery provides a total range advantage for long-distance cross-border drives between Emirates or across the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this range-extended SUV typically averages around 8.0L/100km in mixed GCC driving, though high-speed highway cruising at 120 km/h may see figures closer to 9.5L/100km. Service intervals are recommended every 12,000 km, with dedicated authorized service centers now fully operational in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While the brand is a newcomer, its 'Made in the UAE' manufacturing ties and high-grade steel construction provide a stronger value retention outlook than standard imported Chinese EVs.

Performance & Capability

The ROX 01 delivers a verified 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.5 seconds, powered by dual electric motors generating 470 hp and 740 Nm of torque. This performance is managed by five dedicated terrain modes—including Sand and Wade—allowing it to navigate soft desert dunes and gravel wadis with confidence. The 1.5L engine acts solely as a generator, ensuring the vehicle always has power to the wheels even during extended off-road excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of Nappa leather and double-glazed acoustic glass, designed to insulate passengers from the extreme GCC heat. Three-zone climate control with dedicated vents for the second and third rows ensures all six passengers remain cool, while the zero-gravity seat function provides exceptional comfort on long highway stretches. Tech highlights include a 15.7-inch 3K central display and a digital rearview mirror that provides clear visibility even when the cargo area is fully loaded.

Safety

Safety is paramount with a suite of 9 airbags and a high-strength steel body cage. The VIP trim includes a full ADAS suite featuring adaptive cruise control for long desert highways, blind-spot monitoring for fast-moving urban traffic, and a 3D transparent chassis view that is invaluable for navigating obstacles both on and off-road. Its CIRI 'Good' safety rating reflects the robust engineering under its Italian-designed exterior.

The bottom line

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP is the ideal choice for the tech-savvy GCC family who needs the luxury of a private jet cabin and the rugged capability of a desert-ready 4x4. It offers a rare opportunity to own a flagship-spec long-range hybrid with minimal mileage and the most desirable regional color.
