Summary

This 2026 Xpeng Gx enters the market as a formidable REEV (Range Extended Electric Vehicle) that effectively solves the charging anxiety often associated with regional road trips. As a 6-seater SUV with a black exterior, it offers a professional and timeless aesthetic that maintains strong resale value across the GCC markets. The SUPER RANGE EXTENDER 1585 AWD trim delivers a massive 503 hp, ensuring that this large family vehicle never feels sluggish during highway overtaking or uphill climbs. Compared to traditional petrol SUVs in its class, this model offers a significant advantage in fuel efficiency while providing a more premium interior experience than most mainstream rivals. Given that it is a 2026 model year, buyers are essentially securing a future-proofed vehicle with the latest intelligent driving technology already standard. For a buyer in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, the combination of electric efficiency for city commutes and a 1.5L range extender for long-distance desert drives represents the most practical evolution of the modern SUV.

This Car vs Other 2026 Xpeng Gxs

As a 2026 model, this Xpeng Gx represents the absolute cutting edge of the brand's engineering, featuring the most refined version of their range-extending powertrain. While many vehicles of this age in the GCC market start to show the wear of high-intensity highway use, this specific listing benefits from being at the start of its lifecycle with no significant wear to report. The black exterior is a strategic choice for the region, as it remains one of the top three most requested colors in the secondary market, ensuring you have a liquid asset when it comes time to upgrade. Choosing this specific unit over others allows a buyer to bypass the wait times associated with new imports while still receiving a vehicle that is effectively in showroom condition. In a market where 20,000 km is the annual norm, this vehicle’s fresh status provides a significant buffer for long-term ownership. The AWD configuration here is also a key differentiator, providing superior stability on rain-slicked city roads or gravel paths compared to the RWD variants often found in similar listings.

SUPER RANGE EXTENDER 1585 AWD vs Lower Trims

Choosing the SUPER RANGE EXTENDER 1585 AWD trim elevates the Xpeng Gx from a standard family hauler to a high-performance luxury cruiser. The primary advantage of this trim is the dual-motor All Wheel Drive system paired with the high-output range extender, producing a total of 503 hp which is a substantial jump over the entry-level configurations. Inside, this trim typically includes the premium 6-seat layout with second-row captain chairs, offering a level of passenger comfort that the standard 5 or 7-seat benches cannot match. GCC buyers will particularly appreciate the enhanced climate control logic and higher-grade upholstery materials that come standard with this top-tier specification. Furthermore, the 1585 AWD variant often includes the full suite of hardware for Xpeng's advanced autonomous driving features, including LIDAR and high-definition cameras that are sometimes omitted or optional on lower trims. It is the definitive choice for those who prioritize safety tech and overtaking power on the fast-moving highways of the Emirates.

Xpeng Gx vs Segment Rivals

The Xpeng Gx competes in an increasingly crowded segment of intelligent SUVs, yet it holds a distinct advantage over rivals like the Li Auto L8 or the BYD Tang through its software integration and drivetrain efficiency. While traditional luxury SUVs from European brands often struggle with high fuel consumption in Dubai's stop-and-go traffic, the Xpeng Gx uses its REEV setup to provide a whisper-quiet, electric-only experience for daily commutes. Compared to the Li Auto L8, the Gx offers a more futuristic design language and a more aggressive ADAS suite that feels better suited for the high-tech infrastructure of the UAE. Its 6-seat configuration provides better walk-through access to the third row than the 7-seat layouts found in the BYD or domestic Japanese rivals, making it a superior choice for families with young children. Additionally, the specific power output of 503 hp puts it ahead of many petrol-powered V6 competitors in terms of immediate torque and acceleration, which is vital for safe merging on the E11 or other major arterial roads.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a REEV like the Xpeng Gx in the GCC offers a unique financial profile that balances low daily energy costs with the convenience of petrol. Real-world consumption is remarkably low, as the 1.5L 4-cylinder engine acts only as a generator to keep the battery topped up, avoiding the massive fuel bills typical of large 500 hp SUVs. While this is a Chinese regional spec, the availability of parts is growing rapidly across the UAE and Saudi Arabia as Xpeng expands its authorized service footprint, ensuring that maintenance is not the hurdle it once was for boutique brands. Service intervals are generally longer than traditional internal combustion engines because the petrol motor operates at a steady, optimized RPM, reducing wear and tear. Resale value for Xpeng models in the UAE has shown a steady upward trend as brand recognition increases and the local market embraces high-tech electric vehicles. By maintaining the vehicle within the expanding network of specialized EV service centers in major GCC cities, owners can expect to retain a competitive percentage of their initial investment over a three-year period.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure for this Xpeng Gx is the 503 hp delivered through its sophisticated AWD system, providing the kind of effortless acceleration usually reserved for sports cars. This power is managed through an intelligent automatic transmission that seamlessy blends the output of the electric motors with the support of the 1.5L range extender. On the long stretches of highway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the Gx feels exceptionally stable, with the AWD system constantly monitoring traction to ensure the vehicle remains composed even during sudden maneuvers. While not a dedicated rock-crawler, the SUV’s ground clearance and All Wheel Drive capability make it perfectly suited for weekend escapes to the desert outskirts or navigating the sandy shoulders of rural roads. The 6-seat capacity does not compromise performance, as the torque-heavy electric motors ensure the vehicle feels light and responsive even when fully loaded with passengers and luggage. It is a master of the multi-functional lifestyle required by modern GCC residents, moving from school runs to cross-border road trips with total ease.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside the Xpeng Gx, the focus is squarely on the 6-seat executive experience, featuring plush captain chairs in the second row that provide individual armrests and significant legroom. For the GCC climate, the air conditioning system is engineered to handle extreme ambient temperatures, with dedicated vents for all three rows ensuring that every passenger remains cool during the peak of summer. The cabin is an oasis of technology, featuring multiple high-resolution displays that control everything from the navigation to the premium audio system, creating a lounge-like atmosphere on long drives. Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels are kept to a minimum thanks to extensive soundproofing and the inherent quietness of the electric-first drivetrain, allowing for easy conversation even at highway speeds. The black exterior is paired with a high-quality interior finish that resists the glare of the desert sun, while the spacious boot remains usable even with the third row in place. It is a space designed for the long-haul comfort that regional driving demands, providing a sanctuary from the heat and hustle of the city.

Safety

Safety in the Xpeng Gx is driven by one of the most advanced ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suites available in the global market today. Standard features on this SUPER RANGE EXTENDER trim include high-definition LIDAR sensors and a multi-camera array that provides a 360-degree safety bubble around the vehicle, crucial for navigating the busy multi-lane highways of the GCC. The adaptive cruise control and lane-centering functions are particularly well-calibrated for the long, straight desert roads, significantly reducing driver fatigue on multi-hour journeys. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts provide an extra layer of protection in dense urban environments like Downtown Dubai or Riyadh. Furthermore, the robust battery casing and reinforced chassis provide excellent passive safety, ensuring the vehicle meets high standards for occupant protection. Unlike many competitors where these high-tech safety features are hidden behind expensive option packages, this Xpeng Gx includes them as standard, making it one of the safest family vehicles currently available in the region.

The bottom line

This 2026 Xpeng Gx is the perfect choice for the tech-forward family in the GCC who wants the benefits of an electric vehicle without the limitations of charging infrastructure. With its 503 hp AWD system and premium 6-seat cabin, it represents a high-value alternative to European luxury SUVs at a fraction of the long-term running costs.
