Toyota Verso

Introduction

The Toyota Verso, produced from 2009 to 2018, was a compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) designed primarily for European markets. It replaced the Corolla Verso and became a popular choice among families due to its practical design, flexibility, and Toyota’s proven reliability. With seating for up to seven passengers, the Verso provided a balance between everyday usability and comfort for longer journeys.

Exterior

The Verso featured a modern and aerodynamic exterior design, with a wide front grille, sharp headlights, and a tall body for maximized cabin space. Interior

Inside, the Verso offered a spacious and versatile cabin. Depending on the trim, it provided five or seven seats, with the Toyota “Easy Flat” system allowing rear seats to fold flat into the floor. Higher trims featured dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, and touchscreen infotainment systems. The cabin was designed with families in mind, offering multiple storage compartments.

Safety Features

The Toyota Verso came equipped with strong safety measures, including multiple airbags, ABS with electronic brake distribution, and stability control. Later models also introduced Toyota Safety Sense, offering advanced features such as lane departure alert, pre-collision system, and automatic high beams. The Verso was available with several petrol and diesel options, including 1.6L and 1.8L petrol engines, along with 1.6L and 2.0L D-4D diesels. Power outputs ranged from around 110 hp to 150 hp, paired with manual and automatic transmissions. All versions used front-wheel drive.

Maintenance of the Verso was straightforward and affordable, backed by Toyota’s global service network. Regular servicing of the engine, brakes, and suspension ensured its long-term reliability. Known for its durability, many Verso models are still widely used by families and taxi operators.
