1970 Mercedes-Benz 3.5 Coupé

In the 1960s Mercedes-Benz needed to compete in the US market, and in order to do so they undeniably needed to sell a car with a V8 engine. Afterall, BMW had been producing V8s since the early 1950s. Mercedes-Benz therefore started producing and delivering eight cylinder vehicles in the early 1960s. The introduction of the alloy-block 3.5 W111 engine changed the game for the marque in the States.

This example was imported by Tomini Classics in 2016. It is an original 3.5 Coupé, delivered new to Germany. It then spent many decades in Japan in very sympathetic ownership.

This beautiful restored example today boasts fresh interior upholstery and has benefitted from regular servicing. The air conditioning cools beautifully, and the ride quality is incredible. A very cool cruiser with plenty of torque.
