Summary

This 2007 Hummer H2 Luxury is a definitive icon of American road presence, maintained to GCC specifications for the regional climate. With a 6.0-litre V8 providing massive torque, it remains a unique choice for those who value durability and a commanding view of the road that few modern SUVs can replicate. The Luxury trim elevates the experience with leather upholstery and premium touches that were top-tier for its generation. For a GCC buyer, this model represents a discontinued era of 'over-engineered' utility that handles both long highway stretches and desert weekend trips with ease. Its mechanical simplicity compared to modern alternatives makes it a robust long-term companion for regional explorers.

This Car vs Other 2007 H2s

With 220,000 km, this H2 has seen average usage for a 17-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where annual driving often exceeds 20,000 km. While many H2s were imported as American specs, this GCC-spec unit is specifically optimized for local cooling and filtration requirements. The 'Other' exterior color offers a distinct look in a market dominated by white and silver, providing a point of exclusivity for collectors.

LUXURY vs Lower Trims

The Luxury trim adds significant premium features over the base model, most notably the upgraded leather seating surfaces and a Bose premium audio system that was class-leading at the time. It also features additional chrome exterior accents and roof rack crossbars that enhance its visual appeal. While the Adventure trim focused on air suspension, the Luxury trim emphasizes cabin refinement and daily comfort.

H2 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Lexus LX470 or the Mercedes-Benz G-Class of the same era, the H2 leads with sheer cabin width and a wider track that provides exceptional stability on soft sand. Its 121-litre fuel tank is specifically designed for long-range cruising, outperforming many rivals in total highway range between stops. The approach and departure angles remain superior for serious off-road enthusiasts looking to tackle steep dunes.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption reflects the H2's heavy-duty nature, typically averaging around 21.4 L/100km in combined GCC driving. Service centers for General Motors are widely available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC, ensuring parts availability remains strong for this generation. While depreciation has stabilized due to the model's discontinued status, well-maintained GCC-spec Luxury trims retain a dedicated enthusiast following that supports stable resale values.

Performance & Capability

Powered by the legendary 6.0L Vortec V8, the H2 delivers 325 hp and 495 Nm of torque, making it a capable hauler with a braked towing capacity of approximately 3,000 kg. Its true strength lies in its off-road hardware, featuring a dedicated low-range transfer case and 250mm of standard ground clearance. Whether cruising at 120 km/h on the E11 or navigating gravel wadis, the body-on-frame construction provides a sense of indestructible durability.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is configured for 6 passengers, offering a spacious cabin that excels in shoulder room. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard, ensuring the front passengers stay cool during the peak GCC summer months. The Luxury trim's heated leather seats and acoustic glass provide a surprisingly quiet environment, insulating the cabin from both desert heat and highway wind noise.

Safety

Safety features include dual front airbags, a sophisticated four-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS), and electronic traction control. The heavy-duty chassis and high seating position offer inherent passive safety, while the standard StabiliTrak system helps maintain control during sudden maneuvers on sandy or gravel-strewn road surfaces.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec H2 Luxury is the perfect choice for an enthusiast looking for a rugged, iconic SUV that combines heavy-duty capability with the high-end features of its era.
