Summary

This Toyota Coaster LWB is the quintessential workhorse for group logistics in the Middle East, offering the mechanical simplicity of a 4.2-litre diesel engine. With a yellow exterior that provides high visibility for commercial operations, it stands as a reliable partner for staff transport or tourism ventures. Its Long Wheelbase (LWB) configuration ensures maximum passenger capacity without sacrificing the robust durability Toyota is known for. Given its legendary status in the GCC, parts and expert maintenance are available in every corner of the region. This listing represents a strategic investment for businesses prioritizing uptime and low total cost of ownership.

This Car vs Other 2009 Coasters

With 290,000 km, this Coaster sits at an average mileage for a commercial vehicle of this age in the GCC, where annual use typically exceeds 25,000 km. The yellow exterior is a functional choice for commercial fleets, often preferred for its visibility and ease of branding. While higher-mileage examples are common, the 1HZ engine in this model year is renowned for lasting well beyond 500,000 km with basic maintenance.

LWB vs Lower Trims

The Long Wheelbase (LWB) trim adds significant interior volume over the standard wheelbase version, allowing for a 9+ seating configuration that is essential for commercial permits. It typically features higher-capacity rear air conditioning units, a critical upgrade for maintaining passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer. This specific trim focus on utility, utilizing durable interior materials designed to withstand high-frequency daily use.

Coaster vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Civilian and Mitsubishi Fuso Rosa, the Coaster leads in terms of resale value and the sheer density of the Toyota service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. While rivals may offer different engine displacements, the Coaster's 4.2L 6-cylinder diesel is prized for its mechanical simplicity and lack of complex electronics. Its wider seating arrangement is often cited as a passenger preference for long-distance transfers between emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption for the 4.2L diesel engine typically ranges between 11L and 14L/100km, offering predictable operating costs for fleet managers. Resale value remains exceptionally high in the GCC used market, with Japanese commercial vehicles depreciating significantly slower than European or Chinese alternatives. Authorized service centers are ubiquitous across the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, ensuring that maintenance intervals of 5,000 to 10,000 km are easily managed.

Performance & Capability

The 135 hp 6-cylinder diesel engine is built for torque rather than top speed, providing the steady power needed to transport a full load of passengers across highway inclines. Its rear-wheel-drive configuration and manual transmission offer the driver direct control and mechanical reliability in high-ambient temperatures. The 95-litre fuel tank provides a substantial range, reducing the frequency of refueling stops during long-haul staff routes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around passenger density and thermal management, featuring dedicated rear cooling vents that are essential for the Middle Eastern climate. Large windows provide excellent visibility, while the high-roof design ensures adequate headroom for easy boarding. The manual folding doors and fabric seating are engineered for longevity, prioritizing ease of cleaning and long-term durability over luxury frills.

Safety

Standard safety features for this GCC-spec model include a reinforced body structure designed to meet regional commercial transport standards. The vehicle is equipped with a basic braking system including an exhaust brake, which is highly effective for maintaining control during deceleration when fully loaded. Large side mirrors and a wide front windshield provide the driver with clear sightlines, vital for navigating busy urban transport hubs.

The bottom line

This Coaster LWB is the ideal choice for a GCC fleet operator looking for a durable, high-capacity diesel workhorse with the best resale prospects in its class. Its proven mechanical platform makes it a low-risk addition to any commercial transport operation.
