Summary

This 2010 Infiniti FX35 Excellence offers a compelling entry into the luxury performance SUV segment, featuring the renowned VQ-series engine that balances 303 hp with mechanical longevity. Finished in Grey, a neutral and highly liquid resale color in the UAE, this GCC-spec example benefits from an All-Wheel Drive system that provides confidence during fast highway commutes and light weekend excursions. The Excellence trim ensures a premium cabin environment, standing out from its European rivals with significantly lower long-term maintenance costs and a robust local service network. For a buyer seeking a 'sports sedan in an SUV body,' this model’s sharp handling and aggressive styling remain distinctive even in a crowded pre-owned market.

This Car vs Other 2010 FX35s

With 171,000 km, this vehicle sits slightly above the average for its year, yet within the expected range for a GCC-spec cruiser often used for inter-emirate travel. The Grey exterior is a significant resale advantage in the region, resisting heat better than darker tones and maintaining high demand in the secondary market. Its mechanical history, typical of the VQ35 platform, often sees these cars reaching well over 250,000 km with basic routine maintenance.

EXCELLENCE vs Lower Trims

The Excellence trim elevates the ownership experience by standardizing the Around View Monitor, a 360-degree camera system that is essential for navigating tight Dubai mall parking spots. While base models may lack specific tech, this trim includes the 11-speaker Bose premium audio system and dual-zone climate control with rear-seat vents, a critical feature for passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer. You also benefit from factory-integrated navigation and high-intensity discharge (HID) bi-functional projector headlights.

FX35 vs Segment Rivals

The FX35 leads rivals like the BMW X5 and Lexus RX in driving engagement, offering a rear-biased AWD system that mimics sports car dynamics. Unlike European competitors of the same era, the Infiniti shares many components with the Nissan 350Z, ensuring that parts are both widely available and significantly more affordable across all seven Emirates. Its unique 'bionic cheetah' design profile also offers a more athletic silhouette compared to the more traditional, boxy shapes of its contemporaries.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this AWD V6 typically ranges between 13–15 L/100km in GCC stop-start city traffic, improving to approximately 10.5 L/100km on long highway stretches like the E11. Service intervals are recommended every 5,000 to 10,000 km, with authorized centers like Al Masaood and Arabian Automobiles providing comprehensive coverage across the UAE. The FX35 retains value better than many European luxury SUVs, with a predictable annual depreciation of 10–12% due to its reputation for bulletproof reliability.

Performance & Capability

The 303 hp V6 delivers a verified 0–100 km/h time of 6.5 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on high-speed desert roads. The 7-speed automatic transmission is tuned for responsiveness, featuring downshift rev-matching that makes spirited driving surprisingly rewarding for a vehicle of this size. While it is road-biased, the 187 mm ground clearance and Intelligent AWD system are perfectly suited for navigating gravel paths and sandy parking areas at local beaches or campsites.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a mix of leather and soft-touch materials designed to insulate passengers from the high external temperatures of the region. A powerful air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents ensures the 5-seat cabin cools down rapidly even after being parked in direct sunlight. The Excellence trim also features power-adjustable front seats with memory functions, allowing for a tailored driving position during long cross-country trips.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of six airbags and a robust Electronic Stability Control system that is particularly effective on gravel-covered highway shoulders. Standard features on this trim include the Around View Monitor for total visibility, Traction Control for sandy surfaces, and Brake Assist for emergency stops in high-speed traffic. The 4-wheel ABS and Tire Pressure Monitoring System provide additional peace of mind during long desert drives.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who values Japanese reliability without sacrificing performance, this GCC-spec FX35 Excellence is a practical choice that offers a premium feel and a timeless design.
