Summary

This GCC-spec Lexus RX350 Prestige offers a rare combination of Japanese reliability and luxury that holds up remarkably well in the local market. With 172,000 km, it sits comfortably within the average mileage range for its age, suggesting it has been used for the typical long-range highway commutes common across the Emirates. The blue exterior is a sophisticated alternative to the standard palette, maintaining a clean presence while benefiting from Lexus's legendary paint durability. As a 2010 model, it represents the third-generation redesign, which introduced significantly improved cabin quietness and a more refined ride compared to its predecessors. For a buyer in the GCC, this remains one of the most sensible luxury SUV entries due to the widespread availability of specialized service centers and affordable parts.

This Car vs Other 2010 RX350s

At 172,000 km, this vehicle reflects an average of roughly 12,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. While many 2010 models on the market have surpassed the 250,000 km mark, this example represents a more preserved mechanical state. The Blue metallic finish is a standout choice that retains its luster well under the harsh sun compared to darker non-metallic shades.

PRESTIGE vs Lower Trims

The Prestige trim in the GCC market bridges the gap between the entry-level and the fully-loaded Platinum, adding essential luxury features like a power-operated tailgate and a sunroof. It typically upgrades the interior with high-quality leather upholstery and an improved 12-speaker audio system compared to the base fabric-seated versions. Buyers also benefit from the Remote Touch controller, which makes navigating the infotainment system more intuitive during highway drives.

RX350 vs Segment Rivals

The Lexus RX350 leads rivals like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz ML of the same era in terms of long-term ownership costs and air conditioning performance, which is vital for the UAE summer. While German competitors focus on high-speed cornering, the Lexus is engineered for absolute cabin serenity and a softer suspension that better handles the varying road surfaces between cities. Its V6 engine is widely regarded as one of the most reliable powertrains ever sold in the region.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 typically averages around 10.8L/100km combined, with highway cruising being surprisingly efficient for a vehicle of this size. Lexus enjoys one of the highest resale values in the GCC, depreciating at a much slower rate (approx. 8-10% annually) than its European counterparts. Authorized service centers are plentiful across all seven Emirates and the wider GCC, ensuring that routine maintenance is both convenient and relatively inexpensive.

Performance & Capability

The 275 hp V6 engine provides smooth, linear power that is perfect for overtaking on the E11 or E311 highways. It manages the 0–100 km/h sprint in approximately 8.2 seconds, offering a dignified pace that prioritizes passenger comfort over aggressive acceleration. While it features all-wheel drive, the RX350 is best suited for sandy tracks and rainy days rather than heavy dune bashing, making it a perfect partner for weekend trips to the coast or stable highway cruising between borders.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat layout offers generous legroom and a flat rear floor, ensuring middle-passenger comfort even on long journeys to Oman or Al Ain. The air conditioning system is famously powerful, capable of cooling the cabin in minutes after being parked in the sun. Standard Prestige features like dual-zone climate control and acoustic glass help maintain a quiet, temperature-controlled environment that feels a generation ahead of many 2010 rivals.

Safety

This Lexus comes equipped with a segment-leading 10 airbags, providing comprehensive protection for all occupants. The safety suite includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control, which are essential for maintaining grip on sandy road shoulders or during sudden desert rainstorms. Additionally, the Prestige trim includes a rearview camera and parking sensors to make maneuvering this SUV in tight city malls effortless.

The bottom line

This RX350 Prestige is the ideal choice for a pragmatic buyer who wants a luxury SUV experience without the high maintenance risks of European brands. Its GCC-spec history and lower-than-average mileage make it a safe, high-value investment in the current used market.
