Summary

This 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG is an ultra-rare collector's piece, particularly notable for its exceptionally low mileage of just 7,000 km over its 16-year life. In the GCC market, where high-performance grand tourers often accumulate heavy highway kilometers, this example remains in near-factory condition, offering a unique opportunity for enthusiasts. Its Black exterior is a high-demand, high-resale choice across the region, perfectly complementing the aggressive, widened stance of this limited-run model. As one of only 350 ever produced, it stands as a peak achievement of the V12 era, delivering a level of exclusivity that rivals modern hypercars while maintaining the robust presence Mercedes-Benz is known for in the Middle East. For a serious collector in the UAE or wider GCC, this represents a rare chance to own a low-mileage icon that has transitioned from a supercar to a blue-chip investment.

This Car vs Other 2010 SL65 AMGs

While a typical 16-year-old high-performance car in the GCC might average 20,000 km per year, this vehicle has covered only 7,000 km in total, making its mechanical wear effectively negligible. The Black paint is a primary choice for local resale, ensuring it retains value better than more experimental colors in the regional secondary market. This specific unit represents the absolute lowest tier of usage available for this model year across the Emirates.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The SL65 AMG is a significant leap over the SL63, trading the V8 for a massive 6.0L V12 biturbo that produces 670 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. This trim includes the wide-body carbon-fiber conversion and a fixed roof for increased structural rigidity, features not found on the standard SL roadsters. Inside, it adds high-grade AMG performance seats and specific carbon-fiber interior trim that GCC buyers specifically value for their unique aesthetic and durability in high temperatures.

SL65 AMG vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Ferrari 599 GTB or Aston Martin DBS of the same era, the SL65 AMG offers a more muscular, torque-heavy driving experience better suited for long-distance cruising across the GCC. Its 1,000 Nm of torque provides effortless overtaking power on the E11, a figure that few naturally aspirated rivals can match. Additionally, the Mercedes-Benz authorized service network in the UAE and Saudi Arabia remains far more extensive than that of its Italian or British competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 15.1 L/100km, which can rise during stop-start traffic in cities like Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals for the V12 biturbo follow the Mercedes-Benz ASSYST Plus system, typically requiring a Service A or B every 10,000 km or annually, with specialized V12 maintenance recommended at authorized AMG centers. Due to its limited production run of 350 units, this model experiences significantly lower depreciation than standard SL variants and is currently trending toward appreciation in the global and local collector markets.

Performance & Capability

With a 0–100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds and a limited top speed of 320 km/h, this car delivers performance that remains competitive with modern supercars. The massive 6.0L V12 is hand-assembled under the 'One Man, One Engine' philosophy, providing a smooth but devastating power delivery ideal for high-speed highway travel. Its rear-wheel-drive setup and AMG sports suspension allow for a focused driving experience during weekend runs to Jebel Jais or the Hatta mountains.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is tailored for high-speed luxury, featuring adaptive AMG sports seats that provide exceptional support and comfort during long inter-emirate drives. The dual-zone automatic climate control is engineered to withstand extreme GCC summer heat, ensuring the interior remains cool even in temperatures exceeding 45°C. The premium Harman Kardon audio system and carbon-fiber accents create a sophisticated environment that balances raw performance with executive refinement.

Safety

Standard safety features include a comprehensive airbag system and an advanced Electronic Stability Program (ESP) tuned for high-output engines. The car utilizes high-performance composite brakes for superior stopping power, essential for managing high speeds on multi-lane highways. Additionally, the fixed carbon-fiber roof significantly enhances roll-over protection and chassis stiffness compared to the standard convertible SL models.

The bottom line

For the discerning GCC collector, this 7,000 km SL65 AMG is a rare investment opportunity, offering near-factory fresh mechanicals in one of the most exclusive V12 bodies ever produced.
