Summary

This 14-year-old Aston Martin Virage is a remarkable find for a GCC collector, showing exceptionally low mileage that is far below the regional average for its age. Finished in striking Madagascar Orange, it offers a distinct resale advantage in a market that prizes unique and high-visibility specifications. The Virage was a short-lived masterpiece, bridging the gap between the DB9 and the flagship DBS, offering a more aggressive stance and carbon-ceramic brakes as standard. For a buyer in the UAE or wider GCC, this car represents a rare opportunity to own a hand-built piece of British history that has been preserved in near-showroom condition. Its naturally aspirated V12 and timeless VH architecture ensure it remains a soulful alternative to modern, turbocharged rivals.

This Car vs Other 2012 Virages

While typical 14-year-old sports cars in the GCC often accumulate significant highway mileage, this example has been driven less than 250 km per year on average. This makes it one of the lowest-mileage examples of this model available in the region, positioning it more as a collector's investment than a daily driver. The Madagascar Orange paint is a rare and highly sought-after factory color that holds its value better than standard silver or grey tones in the local enthusiast market.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The 2012 Virage was launched as a standalone, high-specification model, essentially serving as a factory-upgraded alternative to the standard DB9. It comes standard with performance hardware that was previously reserved for the range-topping DBS, most notably the racing-derived carbon-ceramic matrix brakes and 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the trim includes a 700W premium audio system and bridge-of-weir leather as standard, features that are essential for maintaining cabin comfort during the GCC summer.

Virage vs Segment Rivals

The Virage competes with the Bentley Continental GT and the Ferrari California, but leads the segment with its hand-built, front-mid-mounted V12 engine that provides a perfect 50:50 weight distribution. Its naturally aspirated power delivery offers a more linear and visceral experience compared to the turbocharged engines found in many rivals of this era. Additionally, its carbon-ceramic braking system is standard, whereas it was often a costly option for competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption reflects the high-displacement nature of the 6.0-litre V12, averaging approximately 15.9 L/100km, which is manageable given the large 78-litre fuel tank intended for long-distance GCC touring. Authorized service centers are well-established in major cities like Dubai, Riyadh, and Abu Dhabi, with recommended intervals every 16,000 km or 12 months. As a limited-production model built for only 18 months, the Virage has a flatter depreciation curve than the more common DB9, making it a stable asset in the UAE used market.

Performance & Capability

With a top speed of 299 km/h, the Virage is a dedicated grand tourer designed for high-speed stability on the well-maintained highways of the GCC. The 490 hp V12 engine is paired with a rear-mounted Touchtronic II six-speed automatic transmission, ensuring smooth shifts even in heavy city traffic. The standard Adaptive Damping System offers five different stiffness settings, allowing the driver to transition from a soft, heat-insulating cruise to a sharp, responsive sport mode at the touch of a button.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 2+2 layout featuring hand-stitched leather that requires over 70 man-hours to complete, providing a level of craftsmanship rarely seen in modern coupes. Dual-zone automatic climate control is powerful enough to handle extreme summer heat, while the acoustic glass helps insulate passengers from both external temperatures and wind noise during highway drives. The interior is accented with piano black trim and alloy switches, creating a tactile and luxurious environment for long emirate-to-emirate trips.

Safety

Safety is anchored by a high-performance carbon-ceramic braking system that offers superior fade resistance under high-temperature driving conditions. Standard safety features include stability control, traction control, and a comprehensive airbag suite. For fast-moving GCC highways, the bi-xenon headlights and LED running lights provide excellent visibility, while the adaptive suspension ensures the car remains composed during sudden maneuvers or on variable road surfaces.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to secure a near-delivery mileage V12 masterpiece in a standout color, making it the perfect choice for a GCC collector looking for the ultimate balance of Aston Martin performance and exclusivity.
