Nissan Maxima S Keyless fingerprint entry

Highlights

• 290 hp from a 3.5L V6 engine
• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 14-year-old Nissan Maxima S is a standout example of why Japanese sedans dominate the pre-owned market in the UAE. At 178,000 km, its mileage is significantly lower than the expected 280,000 km for a car of this age in the GCC, where highway-heavy commuting is the norm. The 3.5L V6 provides a level of power and smoothness that modern four-cylinder rivals struggle to match, while the white exterior remains the most sought-after color for heat reflection and resale stability. For a buyer seeking an executive-style drive with verified GCC reliability, this specific listing offers a rare balance of performance and sensible upkeep. It remains one of the few vehicles in its segment that can handle extreme summer heat without compromising its mechanical longevity.

This Car vs Other 2012 Maximas

With 178,000 km on the odometer, this Maxima has been driven roughly 12,700 km per year, which is nearly half the average 20,000–25,000 km annual use typically seen in the GCC. This lower-than-average usage means significantly less wear on major components like the CVT and cooling system. The white paint is a key advantage for local buyers, as it significantly aids in cabin temperature management during peak summer months and historically facilitates a faster sale at higher values in the used market.

S vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim for the flagship sedan, the S trim still offers a premium experience that exceeds standard mid-size sedans. It features 18-inch alloy wheels, a power moonroof, and dual-zone automatic climate control as standard—features often relegated to options on lesser models. It also benefits from the same high-output VQ-series V6 engine found in the higher SV trim, ensuring performance is never compromised regardless of the badge.

Maxima vs Segment Rivals

The Maxima is frequently cross-shipped with the Toyota Avalon and Honda Accord V6, but it leads the segment with its '4-Door Sports Car' DNA and more aggressive steering ratio. Its 76-liter fuel tank is specifically suited for long-distance highway travel between emirates like Abu Dhabi and Dubai, offering a longer cruising range than many modern turbocharged competitors. The V6's natural aspiration ensures it handles the high ambient temperatures of the region more reliably than smaller, high-pressure turbo engines.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 3.5L powertrain typically averages around 10.2L/100km in combined GCC driving conditions. Maintenance is exceptionally straightforward, with Nissan’s authorized service network spanning every major city in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are always available and affordable. The Maxima retains its value remarkably well, depreciating at a slower 8-10% annually compared to European rivals in the same executive class.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this sedan is the legendary VQ35 engine, delivering a verified 290 hp and 354 Nm of torque for effortless highway overtaking. It achieves a 0–100 km/h time of approximately 6.3 seconds, providing a sporty feel that belies its practical four-door configuration. The vehicle-speed-sensitive power steering provides precision at high speeds while remaining light enough for effortless city parking in congested urban areas.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for long-distance comfort, featuring an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat and high-capacity dual-zone climate control capable of cooling the interior quickly after being parked in the sun. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents and a 60/40 split-folding seat for added cargo versatility. The interior is insulated with acoustic materials to ensure a quiet environment even at the higher highway speeds common on UAE roads.

Safety

Safety is anchored by the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System, which includes dual-stage front, side-impact, and roof-mounted curtain airbags for total occupant protection. Standard Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Traction Control (TCS) are particularly useful for maintaining stability on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces. The Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones provides a robust safety shell that earned high ratings during its production run.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Maxima is the perfect choice for an executive professional or a small family looking for a powerful, reliable sedan that has been driven much less than its peers. It represents a high-value opportunity to own a flagship Nissan with a verified service pedigree and the region's best resale color.
