Summary

This Land Cruiser represents a unique opportunity to own a legendary off-roader with remarkably low mileage for its age. As a GCC-spec model finished in white, it sits in the most desirable configuration for local resale value and long-term durability. The GXR trim successfully bridges the gap between rugged utility and family comfort, offering a spacious eight-seat layout that remains the benchmark for the region. Whether navigating city traffic in Dubai or exploring the desert, this V6 workhorse provides the mechanical simplicity and cooling performance that GCC buyers prioritize. It is an ideal choice for anyone seeking the bulletproof reliability of a classic Land Cruiser with significantly less wear than typical market examples.

This Car vs Other 2012 Land Cruisers

With just 75,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven less than 6,500 km per year, which is exceptionally low compared to the GCC average of 25,000 km. While most 2012 models on the market have surpassed the 250,000 km mark, this example offers significantly more mechanical longevity. The white exterior is the highest-demand color in the UAE, ensuring it remains a liquid asset at resale.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim provides essential upgrades over the base EXR, most notably adding a power-adjustable driver’s seat and premium wood-grain interior accents. It also features a superior cooling system with a factory-fitted center console cooler box (fridge), a must-have for the UAE summer. Exterior enhancements include integrated fog lamps and side steps that give it a more finished, executive appearance.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol of the same era, the Land Cruiser leads in long-term parts availability and the sheer density of the Toyota service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. While the Chevrolet Tahoe offers similar seating, the Toyota’s body-on-frame architecture and dedicated low-range gearing provide far superior off-road capability for desert weekend use. Its 4.0L V6 is widely regarded as more reliable and easier to maintain than the complex V8s found in European rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 4.0L V6 typically ranges between 12.9 and 13.4 L/100km on a combined cycle, making it more efficient for daily use than the larger V8 variants. As a GCC-spec Toyota, it benefits from the highest value retention in the region, typically losing only 8-10% of its value annually. Service centers are available in every major city across the GCC, and parts are readily available at competitive prices, keeping long-term maintenance costs predictable.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine is paired with a full-time all-wheel-drive system and a dual-range transfer case, allowing for serious off-road exploration. It features a verified 225 mm ground clearance, enabling it to clear challenging dunes and rocky terrain that would stop most modern crossovers. On the highway, the 385 Nm of torque provides steady pulling power, supported by a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity for trailers or boats.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for large families, offering eight seats with a flexible third-row that folds away to expand cargo space. High-output dual-zone air conditioning with dedicated rear vents ensures all passengers remain cool even when temperatures exceed 45°C. Features like the cooled center console box and a quiet, insulated cabin make long-distance drives between emirates comfortable and fatigue-free.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this GXR includes dual front airbags, side-curtain airbags for all three rows, and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist. It is also equipped with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), which are vital for maintaining traction on shifting sand and steep inclines. The robust body-on-frame construction provides a physical layer of safety and durability that is world-renowned.

The bottom line

For the buyer who values mechanical integrity and low mileage over modern gadgets, this exceptionally well-preserved Land Cruiser is the definitive GCC workhorse. It offers the perfect balance of legendary 4x4 capability and the peace of mind that comes with a low-use, white, GCC-spec Toyota.
