Summary

This 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante represents the pinnacle of British open-top grand touring, featuring a hand-assembled V12 and a full carbon-fiber body for maximum rigidity. With just over 30,000 km, this GCC-spec example has been driven sparingly across the region, maintaining the mechanical integrity required for the local climate. Its timeless grey finish is a preferred choice in the UAE market, ensuring strong resale appeal compared to more niche colors. Combining the visceral soundtrack of a naturally aspirated engine with the refinement of a flagship GT, this Volante offers a rare opportunity to own a hand-crafted icon that remains perfectly suited for long-distance cruising between emirates.

This Car vs Other 2014 Vanquishs

With only 30,734 km on the odometer, this Vanquish Volante sits well below the average mileage for 2014 models in the GCC, which typically reach 60,000 km or more. The exterior grey finish is a highly sought-after shade in the UAE, providing a significant resale advantage over less traditional colors. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it avoids the technical and warranty complexities often associated with imported American or European examples.

VOLANTE vs Lower Trims

The Volante trim transforms the Vanquish from a focused coupe into a versatile open-top GT, featuring a triple-skin fabric roof that retracts in just 14 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h. Beyond the convertible top, this flagship trim includes standard carbon-ceramic brakes and the haptic-feedback glass switchgear derived from the million-dollar One-77 supercar. Inside, it boasts the 1,000-watt Bang & Olufsen audio system, which is specifically tuned to deliver crisp sound even with the roof down.

Vanquish vs Segment Rivals

The Vanquish Volante leads rivals like the Ferrari F12 and Bentley Continental GT in pure material prestige, being the first Aston Martin to feature an entire skin made of aerospace-grade carbon fiber. Its 78-litre fuel tank provides superior touring range for long desert highway drives compared to more track-focused competitors. While rivals may offer more tech, the Vanquish remains the choice for those who value the mechanical soul of a naturally aspirated V12 and hand-stitched Bridge of Weir leather.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 16.4L/100km combined, reflecting the high-displacement V12's character in GCC city traffic and highway cruising. Service intervals are typically every 16,000 km or annually, with a well-established authorized service network available in major GCC cities including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh. As a flagship V12 model, the Vanquish historically retains value better than the V8 Vantage, typically seeing a depreciation rate of 12–15% annually in the local pre-owned market.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this Volante is the AM11 6.0-litre V12, producing 565 horsepower and a top speed of 295 km/h. The rear-mid mounted engine layout ensures a near-perfect 51:49 weight distribution, translated to the road via a Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic transmission. Drivers can cycle through Normal, Sport, and Track modes, which adjust the Adaptive Damping System (ADS) to suit either a relaxed cruise down Sheikh Zayed Road or a spirited drive through the Jabal Hafeet mountain passes.

Comfort & Cabin

The two-seat cabin is a masterclass in craftsmanship, featuring quilted semi-aniline leather and a full-height windscreen—a first for Aston Martin—that significantly reduces wind buffeting during high-speed open-top driving. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered to maintain cabin temperatures even in 45°C+ GCC summers, supported by available ventilated seating. The center console is finished in a unique 'waterfall' design with touch-sensitive glass buttons that provide a tactile, high-tech interface.

Safety

Safety is managed through a comprehensive suite including Brembo carbon-ceramic matrix brakes for fade-free stopping power in extreme heat. The VH architecture utilizes bonded aluminum and carbon fiber for exceptional structural integrity, while four airbags provide occupant protection. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Positive Torque Control (PTC) are standard, ensuring the rear-wheel-drive platform remains composed on the varied road surfaces found across the region.

The bottom line

This Vanquish Volante is a collector-grade example of Aston Martin's final naturally aspirated V12 flagship, offering a low-mileage, GCC-spec opportunity that is increasingly hard to find in this condition.
