• Hand-built engine
• Lowest depreciation in class

Summary

This specific example represents the peak of naturally aspirated performance, arriving in the most desirable color configuration for a Ferrari in the GCC market. With exceptionally low mileage relative to its age, this car has been preserved in a manner that makes it a prime candidate for a serious collector in the region. The Speciale is fundamentally different from the standard 458, offering a more visceral and track-focused experience that remains highly sought after across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While many supercars lose their luster as newer models arrive, the rarity of this specific trim ensures it stands out during high-profile events at the Dubai Autodrome or Yas Marina. Ownership in the GCC is supported by a dedicated service network that understands the requirements of high-performance Italian engineering. This listing is a rare opportunity to secure a piece of automotive history that is widely considered the last and greatest of its kind.

This Car vs Other 2014 458 Speciales

When comparing this vehicle to other 2014 examples found in the GCC, the mileage is significantly lower than the regional average for high-end sports cars, which typically see more use on the smooth highway stretches of the UAE. Most collectors in this region prioritize low-use examples, making this particular car a stronger long-term asset. The exterior color is the definitive choice for the brand and maintains the highest resale liquidity in the secondary market across Qatar, Kuwait, and the Emirates. While this is not a GCC-spec vehicle, the global nature of these limited production cars means they are well-supported by specialized technicians in the region who are accustomed to handling international inventory. The preservation of the interior and the low odometer reading suggest it has spent its life in climate-controlled environments, which is critical for protecting Italian leather and carbon fiber from the intense heat of the Middle East. It stands as one of the cleanest and most well-preserved examples currently available in the regional market.

Speciale vs Lower Trims

Choosing this trim over the standard 458 Italia provides a massive leap in both performance and collectible value that GCC buyers recognize immediately. The engine has been re-engineered to produce more power through a higher compression ratio and revised intake tracts, resulting in the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 Ferrari ever produced at the time. Beyond the power, the car features advanced active aerodynamics that adjust to provide optimal downforce for high-speed stability on the long straights of the E11 highway. The interior is significantly lightened with extensive use of Alcantara and carbon fiber, removing the heavy carpets found in the standard trim to save weight. It also introduces the Side Slip Angle Control system, a technology that allows even non-professional drivers to manage the car’s limits safely during weekend track sessions. These performance upgrades and the limited production nature of the trim make it much more resistant to depreciation compared to the standard base models.

458 Speciale vs Segment Rivals

In the world of high-performance V8 supercars, this model is frequently cross-shopped with the Lamborghini Huracán and the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. While rivals offer modern tech, this car leads the segment in pure emotional engagement and the unique sound profile of its flat-plane crank V8, which is unmatched by its competitors. For the GCC buyer, the Ferrari brand presence is significantly higher than that of the Porsche, command more attention at luxury valet locations. This car's gearbox is renowned for being faster and more aggressive than contemporary rivals, providing a more mechanical and connected feel. Its cooling system is remarkably robust, a vital attribute when navigating the stop-and-start traffic of downtown Riyadh or Dubai in the shoulder seasons. While the Huracán offers all-wheel drive, this rear-wheel-drive setup is preferred by purists who appreciate the lighter weight and more traditional sports car dynamics.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.5-liter engine varies significantly based on driving style, but owners can expect roughly 15 to 18 liters per 100km in typical GCC city conditions. On long-distance highway drives between cities, this can improve to approximately 11 liters per 100km, though these numbers are secondary to the performance for most owners. As a non-GCC spec car, it is important to ensure service history aligns with local intervals, which generally recommend a major check once a year or every 10,000km. Authorized Ferrari service centers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi provide world-class facilities to maintain these complex machines, with additional specialist centers available in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Historically, this specific trim has shown incredible value retention, often appreciating or holding steady while standard luxury cars lose 15% of their value annually. Its status as the last naturally aspirated V8 flagship makes it a uniquely safe harbor for capital in the used supercar market.

Performance & Capability

The performance is dominated by the incredible 597 horsepower engine that revs to a staggering 9,000 RPM, providing a soundtrack that is world-famous. It achieves a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3 seconds, placing it in the top tier of performance vehicles even a decade after its release. The top speed exceeds 325 km/h, a figure that demonstrates its capability for sustained high-speed travel on international routes. The carbon-ceramic braking system is standard, providing immense stopping power that does not fade, which is a reassuring feature on the high-speed highways of the UAE. Driving modes are controlled via the steering-wheel-mounted Manettino dial, allowing the driver to soften the suspension for the bumpy roads of older city districts or sharpen the response for the Autodrome. The car's ground clearance is typical for a supercar, so care is needed over speed bumps, but the front-end geometry is designed to handle modern urban infrastructure surprisingly well.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the focus is entirely on the driver with a two-seat configuration that feels more like a cockpit than a traditional car interior. The racing seats are finished in high-quality materials and offer exceptional lateral support for high-G cornering. Despite its track-focused nature, the air conditioning system is remarkably powerful, a necessary feature for maintaining comfort during the harsh GCC summers. Most controls are located on the steering wheel, including the turn signals and wiper controls, which allows the driver to keep their hands in position at all times. The cabin is stripped of extraneous luxury to save weight, yet the craftsmanship remains visible in every stitch and carbon fiber panel. Noise insulation is minimal to allow the engine note to fill the cabin, though it remains civilized enough for a weekend drive to Al Ain or Fujairah. There is just enough storage space for a small weekend bag, making it a viable car for short getaways between the Emirates.

Safety

Safety in this high-performance machine is managed through a sophisticated suite of electronic aids that were groundbreaking at the time of its release. The Side Slip Angle Control (SSC) acts as a high-tech safety net, constantly monitoring the car’s trajectory and adjusting the electronic differential to prevent loss of control. F1-Trac traction control is specifically tuned to work in tandem with the high-performance tires, ensuring maximum grip even on the dusty or sandy surfaces sometimes encountered on regional roads. High-intensity headlights provide excellent visibility for night driving on unlit desert highways, while the reinforced chassis offers the structural integrity expected of a premium Italian marque. Though it lacks the ADAS suites of modern SUVs, its mechanical safety features—such as the massive carbon-ceramic brakes—provide a level of active safety that is inherently superior in emergency stopping situations.

The bottom line

This 2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale is a blue-chip investment for a GCC collector looking for the ultimate naturally aspirated V8 experience. Its low mileage and iconic color make it one of the most desirable examples currently available in the regional market.
