Summary

This 12-year-old Kia Cadenza EX DLX represents a rare find in the executive sedan segment, offering features typically reserved for high-end European rivals. Finished in white—the strongest resale color in the GCC—this American-spec sedan provides a smooth 6-cylinder drive that remains highly sought after for long-distance highway cruising between Emirates. The EX DLX trim adds significant value through its luxury-focused cabin and panoramic roof, making it a sophisticated choice for those seeking comfort on a budget. As a flagship model, it offers more presence than typical mid-size sedans and remains mechanically robust for daily use.

This Car vs Other 2014 Cadenzas

At 142,000 km, this vehicle sits significantly below the average GCC annual mileage expectation for a car of this age, which typically sees 240,000 km or more after 12 years. The white exterior is a major advantage for local resale, helping to reflect the intense summer heat while maintaining market demand. While this is an American spec, the mechanical platform is shared globally, ensuring continued parts support.

EX DLX PANORAMA S/R vs Lower Trims

The EX DLX trim transforms the Cadenza from a standard sedan into a luxury cruiser by adding the full-length panoramic sunroof and premium ventilated front seats. It also features a superior Nappa leather interior and an upgraded sound system compared to the base Premium trim. For GCC buyers, the cooling front seats and the airy cabin feel provided by the glass roof are high-value additions that greatly improve the summer driving experience.

Cadenza vs Segment Rivals

The Cadenza competes directly with the Toyota Avalon and Nissan Maxima, leading the segment with a standard feature list that often exceeds its Japanese rivals at the same price point. Its 3.5-litre V6 provides a more relaxed, torque-heavy delivery than the smaller engines found in mid-size alternatives like the Camry or Altima. The generous rear legroom makes it a superior choice for family road trips across the UAE or Oman.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 averages approximately 10.7 L/100km, which is efficient for a large sedan during highway commutes. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and Kia's extensive authorized network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures maintenance is straightforward. While American spec cars generally see slightly higher depreciation than GCC spec models, this is offset by the initial value and the high-demand EX DLX equipment level.

Performance & Capability

The 290 hp V6 engine provides effortless acceleration, allowing for confident overtaking on fast-moving highways like the E11. Paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, it delivers a refined and quiet ride that masks high speeds effectively. This front-wheel-drive sedan is tuned for stability and comfort, making it an ideal companion for the long, straight desert roads common in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around passenger comfort, featuring dual-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents to combat the Gulf summer. The inclusion of ventilated front seats is a game-changer for local comfort, while the acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from road noise during long trips. The 5-seat layout offers executive-level space in the back, ensuring all passengers travel in comfort.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and a traction control system essential for maintaining grip on sandy road surfaces. The Cadenza also features a rearview camera and rear parking sensors, which are vital for maneuvering a sedan of this size in tight city parking. The robust braking system and anti-lock brakes (ABS) provide peace of mind during sudden stops in fast-moving highway traffic.

The bottom line

Perfect for a buyer seeking executive luxury and V6 power at a budget-friendly price point, this well-maintained EX DLX is a smart alternative to more expensive mid-size sedans.
