Summary

This 2020 Kia Pegas EX offers an excellent entry point into the GCC used market, specifically for those prioritising low overheads and urban maneuverability. As the higher-spec EX trim, it adds meaningful comfort features over the base model, while the Gold exterior remains a practical choice for reflecting local sunlight. Given its age, this mileage is consistent with typical GCC highway commuting, and the model's reputation for durability makes it a reliable choice for second owners. With one of the most accessible service networks in the region, maintenance is both simple and affordable across the Emirates and beyond.

This Car vs Other 2020 Pegass

With 120,000 km, this vehicle aligns with the higher average annual use typical of GCC commuters who frequent the long highways between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While many budget sedans are entry-level trims, this EX model represents the top-tier offering for its year. The Gold finish is a neutral, heat-reflective shade that holds its appeal and resale stability well in the local market.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim elevates the ownership experience significantly over the base LX by adding 14-inch alloy wheels and front fog lamps. Inside, it features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto—a critical feature for navigating modern GCC cities. It also includes a rearview camera and rear parking sensors as standard, which are often absent on lower-spec fleet versions.

Pegas vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Sunny and Toyota Yaris, the Pegas offers a more compact footprint that makes it superior for tight city parking in areas like Sharjah or Deira. While rivals may offer slightly more rear legroom, the Pegas leads with a highly competitive 475-litre boot, providing more cargo versatility for weekly grocery runs or airport trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a primary strength, with an official combined rating of 5.7 L/100km, making it one of the most economical petrol sedans in the region. Kia's massive presence across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar ensures that spare parts are readily available and affordable at both authorised centers and independent garages. The model historically retains roughly 65% of its value after three years, outperforming many budget competitors in depreciation stability.

Performance & Capability

The 1.4-litre Kappa engine produces 95 horsepower, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission designed for smooth, stop-and-go city traffic. It reaches a top speed of 170 km/h, providing enough poise for stable highway cruising at standard regional limits. Its light steering and 5.2-meter turning radius make it exceptionally capable in dense urban environments.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for practicality, featuring dedicated rear cooling vents to ensure passenger comfort during the peak summer months. The EX trim includes steering wheel-mounted audio controls and a central armrest, enhancing comfort for the driver on longer journeys. Despite its sub-compact classification, the vertical seating position provides surprising headroom for five occupants.

Safety

Safety features on this trim include dual front airbags and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). It also comes equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which is vital for maintaining safety during high-temperature highway drives. ISOFIX child seat anchors are standard, making it a viable secondary car for small families.

The bottom line

This Kia Pegas EX is the ideal choice for a budget-conscious professional or a small family looking for a high-spec commuter with proven GCC reliability.
