• Mark Levinson 15-speaker audio system standard
• Ventilated front seats standard

Summary

This 2014 Lexus IS350 Platinum is a standout find in the GCC market, offering the perfect balance between executive comfort and sports-sedan agility. Black is a perennially strong resale color in the region, and the Platinum trim provides the high-end features like ventilated seats that are essential for the local climate. While the mileage reflects typical highway use for a 12-year-old vehicle in the UAE, the 3.5L V6 is renowned for its long-term durability. This model generation redefined the IS with the aggressive spindle grille, ensuring it still looks modern on the road today. For a buyer seeking Lexus reliability without sacrificing performance, this is one of the most balanced sedans available.

This Car vs Other 2014 IS350s

With 199,600 km over 12 years, this car has averaged roughly 16,600 km per year, which is well below the typical GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. Its black exterior is a high-demand color for the IS model, ensuring better value retention and faster resale compared to more niche shades. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it features a cooling system and air conditioning tuned specifically for extreme desert heat.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim is the luxury-focused peak of the IS range, adding several premium features that lower trims lack. Most importantly for the GCC, it includes ventilated front seats and a specialized 15-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system. You also get a higher grade of leather upholstery and a 360-degree blind-spot monitoring system that significantly aids in fast-moving highway traffic.

IS350 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the BMW 3 Series or Mercedes-Benz C-Class of the same era, the IS350 leads on long-term maintenance costs and mechanical reliability. Its naturally aspirated V6 avoids the complexity of German turbocharged engines, making it better suited for high-mileage ownership in the region. Additionally, Lexus air conditioning systems are widely regarded as more robust for the 45°C+ summer peaks in the Gulf.

Running Costs & Resale

Lexus maintains one of the strongest resale values in the GCC, typically depreciating at a much slower rate than European rivals. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, and with one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, parts are always readily available. The 3.5L engine is efficient on the highway but expects a combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.9 L/100km in typical city-highway mixed driving.

Performance & Capability

The 312 hp V6 engine delivers a smooth, linear power curve that makes highway overtaking effortless. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, it provides a refined cruising experience while remaining capable of a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 6.0 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive setup ensures the car feels planted and communicative through corners, whether you're on a weekend drive to Jebel Jais or commuting through the city.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a showcase of Lexus craftsmanship, featuring 8-way power-adjustable seats and dual-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents. The interior is heavily insulated to minimize road noise at highway speeds, a crucial factor for long-distance drives across the Emirates. The Platinum-specific wood trim and premium materials create a sophisticated environment that remains comfortable even during the peak of summer.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including 8 standard airbags, stability control, and traction control. It features blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which are invaluable for navigating busy multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The high-performance braking system ensures consistent stopping power, providing peace of mind in both stop-start traffic and at high cruising speeds.

The bottom line

This IS350 Platinum is the ideal choice for a professional seeking a reliable, high-spec executive sedan that handles the GCC climate with ease. It offers a rare combination of verified GCC specifications and a premium feature set that makes it an excellent value-for-money opportunity.
