• 333 hp from a 3.0-litre V6 Bi-Turbo
• 530 litres boot space standard

Summary

This 2015 S400 offers an ideal entry into the S-Class flagship experience, combining a smooth V6 powertrain with the unmistakable prestige of the W222 generation. With 102,000 km, the mileage is remarkably low for its age in the GCC, suggesting a life of careful urban use rather than taxing cross-country commutes. The black exterior remains the most sought-after color for executive sedans in the UAE, ensuring it holds its presence and resale value better than lighter alternatives. It stands out by offering the perfect balance of efficiency and effortless highway cruising, making it a highly practical choice for the region's fast-paced roads. For the GCC buyer, this specific listing represents a rare opportunity to own a well-maintained, high-spec German icon at a compelling price point.

This Car vs Other 2015 S400s

While many 2015 models in the GCC market have exceeded 180,000 km due to frequent inter-city travel, this example has covered just 102,000 km, placing it well below the regional average. The black-on-black color combination is a major advantage for resale in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as it remains the standard for luxury executive transport. Its GCC-spec status ensures the cooling systems and electronics are purpose-built to handle extreme summer temperatures without the reliability risks associated with imported specs.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim for the S-Class range, the S400 still provides an elite equipment level that rivals other brands' top-tier models. It includes the signature Airmatic suspension and dual 12.3-inch high-resolution displays as standard, features that lower-tier executive cars typically lack. While higher trims add specific rear-seat massage functions, the standard trim retains the core luxury DNA, including premium leather upholstery and ambient lighting that GCC buyers prioritize.

S400 vs Segment Rivals

The S400 leads the BMW 740i and Audi A8 in terms of pure cabin refinement and ride quality, thanks to its superior acoustic insulation that keeps the interior silent even at 140 km/h. It offers a larger 530-litre boot compared to many hybrid competitors, providing more practical space for family trips across the emirates. The Mercedes brand also enjoys a wider network of specialized service centers across the GCC compared to Jaguar or Lexus, simplifying long-term maintenance.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the S400 averages around 8.5 L/100km on the highway, making it surprisingly efficient for a car of this stature during long runs between Riyadh and Dubai. Servicing is typically required every 15,000 km at authorized Mercedes-Benz centers, which are readily available throughout the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While European luxury sedans face higher depreciation than Japanese workhorses, the S-Class remains the most resilient in its class, typically retaining significant value at the 5-year mark due to high local demand. Parts availability is excellent across the region, ensuring that maintenance costs remain predictable.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0-litre Bi-Turbo V6 delivers 333 hp, allowing for a verified 0-100 km/h time of just 6.1 seconds, which is ample for confident highway merging. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, providing a sense of effortless power that is perfectly suited to the well-maintained highways of the GCC. The rear-wheel-drive setup paired with the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission ensures a silky-smooth delivery of power, emphasizing comfort over aggressive sportiness. The Airmatic air suspension automatically adjusts to road conditions, effectively neutralizing the impact of speed bumps and uneven surfaces common in city traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the S400 features a 5-seat layout with generous legroom, designed to keep all passengers cool during the 45°C summer months via a powerful multi-zone climate control system. The cabin is wrapped in high-grade materials with double-glazed acoustic glass that creates a sanctuary-like environment, isolated from external heat and road noise. The dual-screen digital cockpit remains modern and intuitive, providing the driver with clear navigation and vehicle data. Ample storage and rear cooling vents ensure that family members in the back stay as comfortable as the driver during long weekend road trips.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include a comprehensive suite of airbags and the Pre-Safe system, which prepares the cabin for a collision by tightening belts and closing windows. For GCC driving, the Attention Assist and electronic stability programs are invaluable for long desert drives where driver fatigue or sudden sand drifts can occur. The adaptive braking technology and high-performance LEDs provide excellent visibility and stopping power for fast-moving highway traffic, making it one of the safest vehicles in its class.

The bottom line

This S400 is the perfect choice for an executive or family looking for a prestigious, low-mileage GCC-spec sedan that balances luxury with sensible running costs. It offers the full S-Class experience in the region's most desirable color, representing a secure and high-value investment in the used market.
