• 430 hp from a 3.8L flat-six
• Top speed of 304 km/h

Summary

This 2015 Carrera GTS is a standout example of the highly coveted 991.1 generation, representing the final era of the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six before Porsche moved to turbocharging for the standard range. Finished in black, it occupies the most desirable resale sweet spot in the GCC market, offering a more aggressive chassis and higher output than the Carrera S without the uncompromising stiffness of a GT3. While European in specification, the GTS trim includes standard upgrades like the wide body and Sport Chrono package that are prized by local enthusiasts. For a buyer looking for a visceral driving experience on UAE highways or weekend coastal drives, this naturally aspirated GTS offers mechanical purity that is becoming increasingly rare. It is an ideal bridge for an owner who wants daily-driver comfort paired with track-ready performance heritage.

This Car vs Other 2015 911s

With approximately 119,000 km, this 911 reflects an average of roughly 13,000 km per year, which is lower than the typical GCC annual average for high-use commuters but indicates it has been enjoyed as a true grand tourer. Black remains one of the strongest resale colors in the region, ensuring better value retention compared to louder or more niche paint options. As a European spec car, it offers the same mechanical soul as local units, though buyers should verify service history documentation to ensure maintenance has kept pace with local climate demands.

CARRERA GTS vs Lower Trims

The GTS adds 30 hp over the Carrera S and features the wider body typically reserved for All-Wheel Drive models, even in this Rear-Wheel Drive configuration. Standard equipment includes the Sport Chrono package with dynamic engine mounts, a Sport Exhaust system that defines the 991.1's character, and 20-inch center-lock wheels. It also sits 10mm lower than a standard Carrera, providing sharper turn-in and a more planted feel during high-speed highway maneuvers.

911 vs Segment Rivals

The 911 Carrera GTS faces competition from the likes of the Jaguar F-Type R and the Mercedes-AMG GT. While rivals may offer higher peak torque from larger V8 engines, the Porsche leads with its iconic rear-engine balance and the high-revving character of its naturally aspirated flat-six. It remains the most practical choice in the segment, offering two small rear seats and a level of daily usability that competitors with more cramped cabins struggle to match.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 3.8-liter unit typically averages 8.7 L/100km on the combined cycle, though GCC city traffic can see this rise during peak summer months. Porsche maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and the wider GCC, with minor services generally required every 15,000 km. The 991.1 GTS has shown exceptional value retention globally as enthusiasts seek out the last of the naturally aspirated engines, making it a safer financial bet than newer turbocharged counterparts in the used market.

Performance & Capability

The GTS delivers a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.0 seconds when using the lightning-fast PDK automatic transmission and launch control. With 430 hp and a top speed of 304 km/h, it is perfectly suited for the UAE's well-maintained highway network. The rear-wheel-drive layout provides a traditional sports car feel, while the Active Suspension Management (PASM) allows the driver to soften the ride for long-distance commutes between Emirates or stiffen it for spirited weekend drives.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the GTS features a driver-focused cabin often finished with Alcantara accents and supportive Sport Seats Plus. The dual-zone climate control is robust enough to handle GCC summers, and the 2+2 seating layout provides useful interior storage or space for children. Despite its performance credentials, the cabin remains well-insulated from road noise, making it a comfortable companion for long desert highway stretches.

Safety

This GTS comes equipped with Porsche Stability Management (PSM), which is essential for maintaining grip on sand-dusted road surfaces common in the region. Standard safety features include front, side, and curtain airbags, along with high-performance ventilated disc brakes for consistent stopping power. The Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) enhances nighttime visibility on unlit desert roads by swiveling the headlights into corners based on steering input.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who values the sound and response of a naturally aspirated engine, this black 991.1 GTS is a high-spec opportunity that balances iconic styling with genuine performance pedigree in the GCC market.
