Summary

This 10-year-old Nissan Altima SV offers a dependable commuting solution with a proven track record for durability in the Middle East. While its mileage reflects a decade of consistent use, the Altima remains a popular choice in the UAE due to its straightforward mechanicals and excellent parts availability. The SV trim adds essential convenience features that elevate the daily drive, while the white exterior provides a distinct advantage for heat management and future resale value. For those seeking a mid-sized sedan that balances running costs with highway comfort, this Altima presents a practical entry point into the market.

This Car vs Other 2016 Altimas

At 260,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is consistent with the typical 25,000 km annual average seen across the GCC, where long-distance highway commutes are the norm. While many 2016 models in the market may show lower figures, this car's white exterior is the most sought-after color in the region, offering superior heat reflection and better value retention than darker shades.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim is a significant upgrade over the base S model, introducing 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and an 8-way power driver's seat with lumbar support for improved long-distance comfort. Crucially for the GCC climate, it features dual-zone automatic temperature control and a remote engine start system, allowing you to cool the cabin before entering during summer months.

Altima vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, the Altima stands out for its high-capacity 68-litre fuel tank, which provides impressive range for cross-emirate drives. Its NASA-inspired 'Zero Gravity' seats are widely recognized for reducing fatigue during long highway stretches between Dubai and Abu Dhabi compared to its more firmly-sprung rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Nissan's extensive service network across the UAE and wider GCC ensures that maintenance is affordable and parts are readily available in any emirate. The 2.5L engine is designed for efficiency, though real-world consumption in stop-start city traffic typically ranges between 8 and 9 L/100km. As an American spec vehicle, it follows a standard depreciation curve for imported sedans, but its reputation for mechanical longevity helps maintain a stable floor price.

Performance & Capability

The 182 hp 2.5-litre engine provides smooth, linear power delivery ideal for overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways. Paired with the Xtronic CVT, the Altima is tuned for efficiency and quiet cruising rather than aggressive sprints. With a turning circle of just 11 meters, it remains remarkably easy to maneuver in tight urban parking structures despite its mid-sized sedan dimensions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five occupants, featuring rear air conditioning vents that are vital for passenger comfort during the peak of summer. The SV trim's upgraded cloth upholstery is more resilient to heat than leather alternatives, staying cooler to the touch after the car has been parked outside. Acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from road noise, maintaining a serene environment even at highway speeds.

Safety

This 2016 Altima carries a 5-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA, providing peace of mind for family use. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, electronic stability control, and traction control, which are essential for maintaining grip on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces. The SV trim also includes a rearview camera, making reversing in busy city areas significantly safer and easier.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious commuter who needs a reliable, easy-to-maintain sedan that can handle the UAE's demanding climate and long highway distances.
