Summary

This Nissan Rogue SV offers a practical entry point into the SUV market, featuring a fuel-efficient 2.5L powertrain that is well-suited for the long-distance highway commutes common across the GCC. As a mid-trim SV model, it provides key comfort upgrades over the base trim, such as dual-zone automatic climate control and NissanConnect integration, which are essential for managing the regional heat. While the mileage is significantly higher than the average for a 2016 model, the silver exterior remains a top-tier choice for resale in the local market due to its excellent heat reflection. This model stands out for its class-leading cargo versatility and a proven mechanical platform that is widely supported by technicians from Dubai to Riyadh. For a buyer seeking a durable daily workhorse with all-wheel-drive stability, this Rogue remains a highly functional and cost-effective choice.

This Car vs Other 2016 Rogues

With 420,000 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly more than the typical 160,000–200,000 km expected for a 2016 model in the UAE. However, the silver exterior is the most preferred resale color in the GCC, offering a clear advantage for future liquidity. Frame this as a high-mileage veteran that has already proven its mechanical durability over long-distance regional travel.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim is a significant step up from the base S model, adding dual-zone automatic climate control, which is a vital feature for passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer. It also includes keyless entry with push-button start and automatic headlights, offering a level of convenience and cabin technology that justifies its higher standing in the used market compared to base-spec variants.

Rogue vs Segment Rivals

The Rogue leads rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V in cargo versatility, thanks to the innovative Divide-N-Hide cargo system standard on this trim. Its 2.5L engine is optimized for efficiency on long desert highways, providing a balanced power-to-weight ratio that rivals often struggle to match without moving to more expensive turbocharged options. The spacious second-row legroom also makes it a superior choice for small families compared to more compact crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

This Rogue delivers a real-world fuel economy of approximately 8.4 L/100km, making it one of the more efficient non-hybrid SUVs for city-to-city driving between the Emirates. As a Nissan, it benefits from one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the Middle East, ensuring that parts and maintenance are easily accessible in any major GCC city. While high mileage naturally affects the price, Nissan’s strong brand presence in the UAE helps it maintain a steady value floor compared to less established brands in the segment.

Performance & Capability

The 170 hp 2.5L engine is paired with an Xtronic CVT that focuses on smooth power delivery, ideal for maintaining steady speeds on the E11 or E311 highways. The All-Wheel Drive system provides added stability on gravel access roads and during the rare but heavy seasonal rains experienced in the region. With a ground clearance of approximately 193 mm, it comfortably handles speed bumps and light off-road paths for weekend beach or camping trips.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Rogue SV features Nissan's 'Zero Gravity' seats, designed to reduce fatigue during the long two-to-three-hour drives often required for cross-border travel. The dual-zone climate control allows the driver and passenger to maintain separate cooling levels, a must-have for the intense local climate. The 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats allow for flexible cargo arrangements, easily accommodating larger items like strollers or camping gear while still seating passengers.

Safety

This 2016 Rogue comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags, stability control, and traction control, which are vital for maintaining grip on sandy or oil-slicked road surfaces. The inclusion of a rearview camera and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) provides extra security for daily city parking and long-distance highway safety. Its solid crash-test ratings provide peace of mind for family-oriented buyers in the GCC.

The bottom line

This Rogue SV is a proven high-mileage workhorse perfect for a buyer who prioritizes Nissan's regional reliability and AWD capability at a highly accessible entry point. It represents a smart opportunity to own a feature-rich SUV that has been battle-tested on GCC roads.
