Summary

This Toyota Yaris SE is a definitive choice for anyone seeking a hassle-free, dependable commuter that excels in the UAE’s demanding climate. With a 1.5L engine providing a useful power bump over the base model, it balances city efficiency with the ability to handle highway speeds comfortably between emirates. The white exterior is the most preferred choice in the region, helping to deflect heat and ensuring the highest possible resale value. For GCC buyers, the primary advantage of this listing is its combination of average mileage and Toyota’s bulletproof mechanical reputation. It remains a segment leader for those who prioritize long-term running costs and ease of maintenance above all else.

This Car vs Other 2016 Yariss

With 136,000 km on the odometer, this Yaris has been driven roughly 17,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. While many 2016 models in the market have already crossed the 160,000 km mark, this example offers a mechanical advantage for buyers looking for longevity. The white paint is a strategic choice for the local market, as it remains the most sought-after color for maintaining a high resale price.

SE vs Lower Trims

Choosing the SE trim over the base S model upgrades you to the larger 1.5L engine, delivering 107 hp compared to the 86 hp found in the 1.3L version. This extra displacement is vital for highway merging and maintaining cabin cooling performance during peak summer heat. The SE also adds essential convenience features like audio controls mounted on the steering wheel and power-adjustable mirrors, which are often absent on entry-level fleet specifications.

Yaris vs Segment Rivals

The Yaris leads rivals like the Nissan Sunny and Hyundai Accent when it comes to long-term residual value and the sheer density of the service network across the GCC. While the Sunny offers slightly more rear legroom, the Yaris is frequently praised for its superior air conditioning performance, a critical factor during July and August in the Gulf. Toyota's parts availability is unmatched, with components found easily from Salalah to Kuwait City.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 1.5L powertrain sits at approximately 7.3 L/100km, offering excellent range from its 42-litre tank during cross-country drives. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a significant value premium over American or European imports and remains eligible for service at any authorized Toyota center. Historically, the Yaris experiences one of the lowest depreciation rates in its segment, typically losing only 8–10% of its value annually.

Performance & Capability

The 107 hp engine is perfectly suited for the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh, providing smooth acceleration through a reliable 4-speed automatic transmission. While it is a compact sedan, it maintains stable handling at the 120 km/h speeds common on UAE highways. The front-wheel-drive setup and tight turning circle of 9.4 meters make it exceptionally easy to park in crowded urban areas like Deira or Sharjah.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for durability and ease of use, featuring high-quality fabric seats that stay cool even when the car is parked in direct sunlight. Toyota's legendary air conditioning system is standard, featuring powerful vents that quickly lower the cabin temperature. Despite its compact exterior, the sedan body provides a dedicated 326-litre boot, sufficient for weekly grocery runs or airport trips.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this GCC-spec SE includes dual front airbags and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to ensure controlled stopping on sandy or wet road surfaces. It also features a tire pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX child seat anchors, providing peace of mind for small families. The high-mount stop lamp and side-turn signals integrated into the mirrors enhance visibility during fast-moving highway commutes.

The bottom line

Perfect for the daily commuter or first-time buyer, this Yaris represents a low-risk investment thanks to its proven GCC spec and below-average mileage for its age.
