Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 5.7 seconds
• 333 hp from a 3.0-litre supercharged V6
• 3,500 kg braked towing capacity

Summary

This 2017 Audi Q7 offers an exceptional entry point into the premium executive SUV segment, combining the power of the high-output 45 TFSI engine with a versatile five-seat configuration. At nine years old, its mileage reflects a life spent on the UAE's vast highway networks, which is often preferable to the stop-start wear of heavy city traffic. The silver exterior is one of the most practical choices for the GCC, offering high solar reflection during peak summer months and maintaining strong resale demand in the local market. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a cooling system and air conditioning unit built to handle extreme regional heat far better than international imports. This specific trim provides the perfect balance of Audi's Quattro grip and supercharged performance for confident daily commuting across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2017 Q7s

With 240,000 km, this vehicle has covered more distance than the typical GCC annual average, yet it remains a mechanically sound choice for those prioritizing the 3.0L supercharged engine over lower-displacement alternatives. Silver remains a top-three resale color in the UAE, ensuring it stays liquid in the used market. Its GCC specification is a critical advantage, providing full compatibility with local authorized service centers and regional cooling requirements.

45 TFSI vs Lower Trims

The 45 TFSI trim is a significant step up from the 2.0L 40 TFSI, adding the robust 333 hp V6 engine that is essential for effortless highway overtaking and heavy cargo hauling. In the GCC market, this trim typically includes the Audi Virtual Cockpit and enhanced MMI navigation as standard, features that are often optional on base models. You also gain a higher towing capacity and larger standard alloy wheels that better fill the Q7's flared arches.

Q7 vs Segment Rivals

The Audi Q7 leads the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE in cabin refinement and interior tech integration, particularly with the 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit. While the X5 focuses on aggressive handling, the Q7 offers a more composed and quiet ride that excels on the long desert stretches between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Its Quattro all-wheel-drive system is famously seamless, providing superior stability on rain-slicked tarmac or gravel paths compared to more rear-biased competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the supercharged V6 typically averages between 10.5 and 11.5 L/100km in mixed GCC driving. The Q7 maintains a respectable depreciation profile in the UAE, generally losing 12-15% annually, which is standard for German luxury SUVs. Audi's extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures that parts and expert maintenance are always within reach, supporting long-term ownership viability.

Performance & Capability

The 333 hp supercharged V6 delivers a 0-100 km/h time of just 5.7 seconds, providing surprising agility for a vehicle of this size. With 440 Nm of torque available low in the rev range, it handles the 3,500 kg towing capacity with ease, making it ideal for jet ski or boat trailers. Multiple Audi Drive Select modes, including 'Offroad' and 'Allroad', allow the air suspension and drivetrain to adapt instantly to different UAE terrains.

Comfort & Cabin

This five-seat configuration offers a massive 770-litre boot, providing more cargo versatility than the seven-seat variant for family road trips. The cabin is insulated like a vault, featuring multi-zone climate control with powerful rear vents that are essential for maintaining comfort during 45°C+ summers. Premium leather surfaces and a panoramic sunroof create an airy, upscale environment that makes long cross-border drives feel remarkably short.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes Audi Pre-Sense City with pedestrian detection and autonomous emergency braking. For high-speed highway driving, this trim features blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert to assist in heavy multi-lane traffic. The vehicle achieved a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, supported by a comprehensive suite of front, side, and curtain airbags to protect all occupants.

The bottom line

This Q7 is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants a powerful, GCC-spec German SUV for long-distance commuting and values the proven durability of the supercharged V6 over lower mileage.
