Summary

This 9-year-old Cayenne GTS represents a rare opportunity to own a driver-focused SUV with mileage significantly lower than the GCC average for this age. The Purpurite Metallic finish is a distinctive, premium choice that holds strong appeal in the local pre-owned market, especially when paired with the GTS-specific exterior styling. Positioned as the enthusiast's choice, this trim bridges the gap between the versatile S and the track-ready Turbo, offering a bespoke suspension setup and sport exhaust. For GCC buyers, the combination of a high-output twin-turbo V6 and factory-fitted cooling enhancements ensures reliable performance through the intense summer heat.

This Car vs Other 2017 Cayennes

With just 86,530 km on the odometer, this example has been driven roughly 9,600 km per year, which is exceptionally low for the UAE market where 20,000 km is the typical annual benchmark. The Purpurite Metallic paint is a unique Porsche Exclusive color that differentiates this vehicle from the common white and black options, often commanding a premium among local collectors. Its low-mileage status and GCC-specific hardware make it a high-value prospect compared to imports.

GTS vs Lower Trims

The GTS trim adds significant value over the Cayenne S, including a 20 hp boost and the standard inclusion of the SportDesign package with body-colored wheel arch extensions. Inside, the GTS often features a unique leather and Alcantara interior with the 14-speaker Bose Surround Sound system that is typically an expensive option on lower models. Most importantly, it comes standard with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) air suspension, which sits 20mm lower for improved highway stability.

Cayenne vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW X5 M50i and Range Rover Sport, the Cayenne GTS leads with a focus on lateral dynamics and a more communicative steering feel suited for the UAE's well-maintained highways. Its 100-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range for long-distance drives to Oman or across the Emirates, surpassing many competitors in touring capability. The build quality of the Porsche cabin remains a segment benchmark, specifically designed to withstand prolonged exposure to high ambient temperatures.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.6L twin-turbo engine averages around 12.7 L/100km, though city driving in Dubai traffic can increase this to approximately 14.5 L/100km. Service intervals are recommended every 15,000 km, but local specialists often suggest an oil refresh at 10,000 km to account for the extreme GCC climate. As a GCC-spec GTS, this model benefits from slower depreciation than European or American imports, typically retaining value well due to the strong authorized service network provided by Al Nabooda and Ali & Sons.

Performance & Capability

The 440 hp twin-turbo V6 delivers a top speed of 262 km/h, providing effortless overtaking power on the E11 and E311 highways. The GTS-tuned air suspension and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) ensure the vehicle remains composed during high-speed cornering, feeling more like a sports sedan than a large SUV. While road-biased, the adjustable ride height and intelligent four-wheel-drive system allow for confident handling on gravel paths and light desert trails for weekend excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is designed for premium comfort, featuring 4-zone automatic climate control to ensure rapid cooling for all passengers during the summer months. This specific trim includes GTS sport seats with increased lateral support and heating/ventilation options that are vital for the regional climate. Noise insulation is excellent, creating a quiet sanctuary from road noise during long-distance highway commutes between the Emirates.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a comprehensive suite of 6 airbags and high-performance brakes borrowed from the Cayenne Turbo, identified by their red calipers. For GCC highway driving, the surround-view camera system and front/rear parking sensors provide essential assistance in tight urban spaces. Advanced stability systems, including Porsche Stability Management (PSM), come standard to maintain traction on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants Porsche 911-inspired handling in a family SUV, benefiting from a rare color and low mileage that will help protect its future resale value in the GCC.
