Summary

This 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited offers an exceptional combination of low mileage and premium utility, having covered just over 30,000 km in six years. In the GCC market, where yearly averages often hit 25,000 km, this vehicle represents a rare find with significant mechanical life remaining. The Limited trim strikes a perfect balance, offering luxury touches like leather and upgraded audio without the complexity of higher-tier air suspension systems. Finished in a practical Grey that handles the regional dust exceptionally well, it remains a standout choice for those needing a rugged yet refined daily driver. For the local buyer, this represents a capable all-rounder that transitions seamlessly from city commutes to weekend desert adventures.

This Car vs Other 2018 Grand Cherokees

With only 30,679 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less distance than the 120,000–150,000 km typically seen on 2018 models in the GCC. The Grey exterior is a highly favorable choice for the region, as it hides sand and light dust much better than darker shades, aiding long-term aesthetic maintenance. Being an American spec vehicle, it provides a cost-effective entry into the premium SUV segment, though buyers should ensure a thorough inspection of the cooling system for peak summer performance.

Limited vs Lower Trims

The Limited trim is a substantial step up from the base Laredo, adding essential luxury features that GCC buyers value, such as Capri leather upholstery and a power liftgate. It introduces heated seats for both the front and second-row passengers, along with a heated steering wheel, providing extra comfort during cooler desert winter nights. Additionally, it features a premium 9-speaker Alpine audio system and driver-seat memory functions that are absent on lower-tier variants.

Grand Cherokee vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Ford Explorer or Toyota Prado, the Grand Cherokee offers a more car-like monocoque handling experience while maintaining its legendary Jeep off-road DNA. Its 87-litre fuel tank provides a long cruising range, making it ideal for cross-emirate drives where frequent fuel stops are a hassle. The 3.6L Pentastar engine is widely regarded as one of the most reliable V6 powerplants in its class, offering more standard horsepower than many entry-level competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.6L V6 typically averages around 10.4L/100km on a combined cycle, though this may increase in heavy Dubai or Riyadh stop-start traffic. Jeep maintains a strong authorized service presence across the UAE and KSA through partners like Trading Enterprises, ensuring parts like filters and brake pads are readily available. While American spec vehicles generally experience higher initial depreciation than GCC spec counterparts, the exceptionally low mileage of this specific unit provides a strong buffer for future resale value.

Performance & Capability

The 290 hp V6 engine delivers a smooth and capable 0–100 km/h time of approximately 9 seconds, providing confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways. Equipped with the Quadra-Trac II 4x4 system and Selec-Terrain control, this SUV allows the driver to toggle between specialized modes for sand, mud, and snow. Its maximum braked towing capacity of 2,812 kg makes it a competent choice for hauling jet skis or small trailers for weekend getaways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five adults, featuring premium leather-faced seating and dual-zone automatic climate control to combat the intense summer heat. Extensive acoustic glass is standard on the Limited trim, providing a quiet sanctuary from road noise during long desert highway stints. The rear cargo area is generous, offering over 1,000 litres of space, which is perfect for large family grocery runs or camping gear.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with seven standard airbags and a suite of active aids including a rearview camera and rear parking sensors to assist in tight city parking. The All Wheel Drive system provides enhanced stability on loose gravel or sandy surfaces, while the electronic stability control and hill descent control offer peace of mind during off-road excursions. The robust monocoque frame ensures high levels of structural integrity, a factor that helped the model achieve high safety ratings during its production run.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a premium American SUV with almost new-car mileage at a used-car price point, this low-distance Limited trim is a rare and compelling opportunity.
