Summary

This 2018 Maserati Levante combines the high-performance DNA of an Italian sports car with the practical luxury of a family SUV. Powered by a Ferrari-developed 3.0L V6 engine, it offers a distinctive exhaust note and character often missing from its more clinical German competitors. The sleek black exterior remains a top-tier choice for resale strength in the GCC market, especially when paired with its prestigious trident badge. With all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension, it provides a refined ride for cross-emirate highway cruising while handling the intense summer heat with ease. This GCC-spec example is an ideal entry into the exotic SUV segment, offering a sense of occasion for every commute.

This Car vs Other 2018 Levantes

At 140,745 km, this Levante reflects the active lifestyle common for luxury SUVs in the GCC, where long-distance highway commutes are the norm. The black exterior is a significant advantage for resale, consistently ranking as one of the most sought-after and stable colors in the UAE and Saudi Arabian markets. While the mileage is consistent with daily use in this region, the Ferrari-built engine is engineered for high-speed reliability and consistent performance.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the foundational petrol trim for 2018, this model includes the critical essentials that GCC buyers demand, including the signature Maserati active exhaust system and Q4 all-wheel drive. It provides the same 3.0L V6 engine architecture found in the 'S' trim but focuses on a balanced setup that prioritizes daily comfort over aggressive track tuning. Standard equipment includes essential cabin cooling features and a premium touch-screen infotainment system that serves as the command center for the vehicle's luxury features.

Levante vs Segment Rivals

The Levante stands apart from rivals like the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X6 by offering a more emotional driving experience and a handcrafted Italian interior. It leads in exterior length, providing a grander presence on the road while maintaining a lower, sportier roofline than many other luxury crossovers. The 80-litre fuel tank is specifically beneficial for long-range drives across the GCC, reducing the frequency of stops on trips between major cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 10.7 L/100km on a combined cycle, though this can rise in the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it maintains a higher value floor and easier serviceability than American or European imports. Maserati has a well-established authorized service network across the UAE and the wider GCC, ensuring that specialized parts and Italian engineering expertise are readily available for routine maintenance.

Performance & Capability

With 350 hp and 500 Nm of torque, this SUV achieves a top speed of 251 km/h, ensuring effortless overtaking capability on fast-moving UAE highways. The 0–100 km/h sprint of 6 seconds is delivered via a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission and a sophisticated rear-biased all-wheel-drive system. The standard air suspension allows the vehicle to adjust its height for improved aerodynamics at speed or extra clearance for light off-road paths during weekend adventures.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is a masterclass in Italian design, featuring premium materials and an insulated environment that blocks out the intense heat and road noise. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, essential for maintaining comfort during the peak GCC summer months. The 580-litre boot provides ample space for golf sets or family luggage, making it a versatile choice for both executive use and family road trips.

Safety

This Levante comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features designed for high-speed highway environments, including advanced stability control and multiple airbags. The Q4 all-wheel-drive system continuously monitors traction, providing a safety net during rare rain events or on sand-swept desert roads. Standard parking sensors and a clear rear-view camera make navigating tight city parking in the region's shopping malls and office towers straightforward.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the prestige and soul of an Italian exotic without sacrificing SUV practicality, this black-on-black Levante is a stylish and market-favored choice. It represents a rare opportunity to own a Ferrari-powered SUV that is perfectly suited for the GCC's unique driving conditions.
